hey guys, have u heard about this...
Cellphone insurance launched
Millions of cellular phone owners in the country can now stop worrying about their phones being stolen or accidentally damaged. Now, there is a cellphone insurance that can protect them from theft and accidents. EStandard Insurance, a wholly owned subsidiary of a leading insurer Standard Insurance, has come up with a very timely product called Txt2Protect, the first cellphone insurance in Southeast Asia. The product is available through text messaging. One can get an insurance quote through text (key in INSURE<space> BRAND <space> MODEL and send to 283 for Smart/Talk’NText and 2333 for Globe/Touch Mobile). Bring the phone and pay the premium in any branch of Metrobank Equitable PCI Bank or Standard Insurance and the phone is insured. EStandard President Ernesto Echauz said Txt2Protect was developed to address the rising incidents of cell phone theft in the country. "Txt2Protect is our way of helping our countrymen have peace of mind during these hard times," he said. "By insuring their phones, they need not worry anymore if they encounter holdup men or snatchers in the streets. Txt2Protect insures a cell phone owner against the loss of his or her phone through snatchings, holdups and theft. It also insures the owner from damage on his phone due to accidents. In case of loss, eStandard would replace the cellphone with exactly the same model or a phone with the same value if the original model is no longer available. In case of accidental damage, eStandard will shoulder the cost of the phone’s repair.

got a quote for the Nokia 6600, the premium is 1,707.90. although not sure how long the phone is insured. let's assume it is for 1 year..Php 1,707.90 / 12 months = Php142.32/month or Php4.67/day

Yunnga rin tatanong ko, what if those handsets were bought from Greenhills or yung mga second hand units, will it be based on their market value?
