AC with HEPA filter

Badkuk, have you considered a stand alone HEPA filter so that you can use it even if the aircon is off?

- a standalone HEPA filter would take up space
- i'd be better if the air intake(i.e. the AC) can filter out the bad stuff, instead of letting it circulate in the room for the standalone HEPA filter to filter it out

A standalone filter would be a lot easier to install though

Most new ACs nowadays have HEPA filtering capabilities I think. If I may ask, why do you need one though?

We're thinking about getting one for my dad's room, medyo susceptible siya sa pneumonia. We figured if we can keep the air cleaner, makaiwas siya sa sakit

Gamit ko sa room and sa Car Ozein air purifiers. HEPA, UV at Activated carbon filters siya wih option to use an Ionizer pero di ko ginagamit kasi mabaho. Sa aircon filter mesh naman gamit ko 3M Filtrete.

On one hand, there are air purifiers/HEPA filters being sold for under 7k(FreeAir at S&R, Imarflex), and on the exteme end, Sharp has units in the 20-40k range. Yung Sharp i think includes an ionizer and dehumidifier kaya mas mahal. Somebody also recommended Kenko air purifiers.

Right now i'm leaning towards the Imarflex units, but will look into Kenko -- eto lang yung alam kong me local source nung replacement filters. i already checked with Honeywell, wala daw silang kinacarry na replacement filters dito.

OK kaya yung mga cheaper HEPA filters? Do all HEPA filters undergo some sort of QC/certification before they can be called HEPA filters, or is this just a sticker anyone can slap on their products?

i was to buy hepa filter because our room was newly painted and my kids has asthma and allergies, then i came across air free at rustans, was going to buy already but i wanted to check and review the item first, so far it has a good reviews for air cleaning.

i search at olx was able to get the suppliers direct number there, then i tried at lazada, that time lazed was on sale so i bought mine roughly 15000, got the second biggest unit, the largest unit was out of stock...

medyo OT: kung naghahanap ka ng aircon, i advise to stay away from LG! 1.5 years lang sira agad compressor ng inverter aircon nila.

And I have confirmed that our place is hell for people with asthma and allegies.

Finally bought an Imarflex IAP-300 over the weekend, 5.7k pag cash/straight. So far no complaints, di naman masyado maingay. It comes with an ionizer, but i've opted to shut it off as there are health concerns. There's no mention in the manual but the SA says it's good for a 15-20sqm room.

Sabi sa akin me mabibili namang replacement filter sa service centers(surprisingly there are quite a few nationwide), to be replaced every 5 months.

There are out of the box/reconditioned/old units at some of their outlets if you're looking for something cheaper. Better check if they have filter replacements though.

Para kasing mas gusto ko ito dahil nga madaming service centers. Pero mahal din pala.
Yung Bionaire na tiningnan ko sa Ace Php6,000 so hindi malayo presyo sa Imarflex. Tapos washable filter ata yun.
