    Hi Tsikot people,

I need some advice. Type ko lang talagang mag-drive, pero wala akong kaalam-alam about engines and stuffs. I'm worried about getting stuck sa road just in case i got engine problems, or flat tires, or things like that. Meron ba rito sa Pinas tulad sa States na 24x7 roadside assistance? As in pupuntahan ka nila to try and fix your ride kahit flat tire lang, or even take you back home and tow your car? Takot kse ako, lah talaga akong alam kumalikot ng tsikot eh. I often drive alone pa naman minsan or with my girlfriends.

Meron akong Shell-Citibank Mastercard and it says at the back they are affiliated with a 24-hour Roadside Assistance. It gives me relief, but not yet tried or happened to me yet. Gaano kaya kabilis mag-respond yung mga yun?

    Thanks a lot!

Hi and welcome to the Tsikot!

Yes, mayron na 24x7 road assistance but you have to pay for it. There's Wheelers, AAP, PMA and a few others. However, I don't know if they cover the places outside of Metro Manila.

Response time would depend on certain "variables" like the distance between you and the nearest service truck available.

As for Shell-Citibank, I have no information on how they go about their 24/7 road assistance.

Most Insurance companies provide 24 hr road side assistance, well depending on your plan. BTW prevention is better than cure, so keep your ride in tip top shape as to minimize vehicle breakdown. Also you can browse this site, there are lots of info regarding basic car maintenance. HTH.

Hindi pa naman ako nasisiraan or tumitirik while driving around Metro Manila. Pero totoo ba na mas mabilis pang mag-respond yung mga MMDA Hatak Boys when they spot you stalled on the road? Meron akong friend sabi niya nung tumirik sya sa EDSA, tinatawagan pa lang niya yung private towing service in which he has subscribed, pero yung MMDA pilit na hinahatak na yung sasakyan niya.

the best, afaik is AAP. tapos wheelers. if you have a diner's club with you, may motorist assitance din sila for free. you just have to register your car with them.

yung sabu ni elchicane, totoo yun, hanef ang mga MMDA hatak boys pag nasiraan ka sa daan, pero those assistance firms that i've stated can provide reimbursement.

about dun sa q mo sa response time, actually depende yan eh. but they are mostly there within one hour, kung walang traffic.

AAP serves me well. Call them right away, and arrival time is 30-45 minutes. Depende sa location.

For some reason, ilang beses na ako tumirik sa Makati hindi naman ako tinow ng MMDA.

    Mukhang pulis na siguro ako.

i agree with ILD. just keep your ride in tip top shape para worry free ka. but in remote cases, mabibilis naman yung mga road assistance ng insurance (good & known insurance co i mean).

don't worry, pag sa edsa ka nasiraan. mabilis talaga ang MMDA. hatakin ka agad, lalo na pag nakaharang ka sa kalye. hehe.

    cheers & welcome to tsikot!

Uy, thanks a lot for sharing your experiences ha! Am i right?

Ano ba yan? Kakatakot naman... totoo ba yun?
