Not just one full tank, but a set amount of fuel naman.
There's no sports car that can complete an F1 race on just one tank of fuel... ang haba noon.
This is the way they should have been doing it for the last few years, to keep costs in line and development costs reasonable. No matter what your engine type is, you're always going to be burning a certain minimum amount of fuel to produce a certain amount of horsepower.
Thus, this could lead to engines which you can trim to run much faster or much slower than current F1 engines... with differences of over 100hp between conservation and overtaking mode.
This would equal much more dynamic and exciting racing... with some drivers running hotter at the beginning and then slowing down to conserve, while others stay steady and then turn up the power for the end of the race.

maybe they'll run 1.3 engines next for fuel miserliness?
anyway, let's see. it is interesting though, if they can pull off speed and fuel economy.Last edited by nugundam93; February 19th, 2006 at 07:22 AM.

At best it would be like a parade lap, whether a car is fitted with a powerful engine or an underpowered one, the results would likely be the same. The powerful one would be run sparingly to cut the revs to help in the frugality with fuel. While the underpowered ones will probably struggle a bit to keep pace.
It would probably be good for TV since everyone would be dying to find out who won and how many actually sputtered to a halt as a result of the wrong engine. Imagine each grand prix, an uncertain first place is up for grabs. High speed crashes would be replaced instead with cars parked all over the track-out of fuel is the reason why. The sport wouldnt be about speed, innovation, technology, etc anymore, the very essences that really attracted many to the sport in the first place. Heck, grand prixs could be similar to those Eco-runs being organized by Honda for the City and Jazz.

Di naman siya one full tank... it's just a set amount. I.E.: they'll still be going very fast.
Current F1 races already include sections where the drivers cruise to conserve fuel and engine life. Note that when Kimi is chasing another car on a track where overtaking is difficult, he'll dial back the rev-limiter to conserve his fuel and tires.
F1 under the "limited fuel" rule would be much the same. Everyone saves as much engine power and fuel as possible for the last five or ten laps of the race. Some brave souls will push early to gain an advantage, then throttle back... actually, F1 under the "single tire set" rule was much like that... but at least with the engine rule, people will be able to overtake.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

hmmm....maybe somebody will develop a diesel F1 engine
o di kaya may napakalaking fuel tank sa likod ng ulo ng driver :hihihi:

hey maybe they can make a low flying refuelling blimp or something, the drivers can reduce speed to maybe 40-50 mph and refuel while still racing! just like planes LOL :D
