Rumour is that he will be replaced by M Schumacher for the rest of the season...
Massa in 'stable but life-threatening condition'
Felipe Massa has been described as being in a "serious, life-threatening but stable" condition by the doctors who carried out emergency surgery on his fractured skull.
Massa underwent surgery on Saturday night after being hurt in a high-speed crash during qualifying for the Hungarian GP.
According to the Associated Press, 'Officials at the AEK military hospital said that Massa will be kept sedated on a respirator in an intensive care unit.
'Medical director Peter Bazso said at a news conference that "Massa's condition is serious, life-threatening but stable."
'Bazso and chief surgeon Lajos Zsiros say they expect Massa to be awoken Sunday.'
Massa suffered a cut forehead, skull damage and concussion in the accident caused by a fist-sized spring weighing around 800 grams falling off compatriot Rubens Barrichello's Brawn seconds earlier.
In a short statement released on Saturday night after Massa underwent surgery, Ferrari announced that the 'Outcome of the procedure was positive' and that their driver would remain in observation in intensive care.
The team will release a further update on his condition on Sunday morning.

I wasn't able to watch the qualifying last night, but I saw a clip showing his car colliding with the tyre barrier head on....

buti na lang the spring did not hit him straight on sa frontal visor. Who would think the helmet would be life saving from track debris.
LH was a gracious winner today, wishing FM well.

Star Sports showed this replay at normal video speeds but it was so fast that I was not able to see this debris hitting the car or Massa. DW TV showed a frame by frame slow-mo replay and you can clearly see the spring only inches away before it hit Massa. It was caught by his on-board camera. 800 grams of metal these cars can travel at excess of 300kph! He is lucky indeed. Wish him back in the race soon.

Geeez that was scary. The FIA might consider another redesign of the cockpit regulations.
