    Hamilton - 7 wins and 3 DNFs
    Rosberg - 4 wins and 2 DNFs

Separated by 3 championship points. This is close and will go on until the double-point race in Abu Dhabi.

Sucks that the DNFs play such a big part.

But that's the luck of the draw... and somehow, Rosberg has managed to finish once or twice despite mechanical problems... which gave him a points advantage before this race.

Also... Vettel on 2nd. Whodathunkit? Say what you will about his pace versus Ricciardo, but the man is still a great wheel-to-wheel racer.

I hope the double points in Abu Dhabi won't spoil Hamilton's championship run. He is a lot faster than Britney in pure talent alone...

But Britney is hungrier than Mister Pussycat Doll...

Aside from those questionable moments on track... Rosberg has been doing a bang up job of keeping Lewis honest...

Seriously... did any of us think Nico would be 8-6 up on Lewis in qualifying this year? Or 7-7 if you discount Monaco where Lewis was denied his final lap by that yellow flag? Nico was never known for terrific qualifying pace before... but you could see, even at the start of the season, he was pushing the car extremely hard.

I believe that Hamilton is still better at driving the car at 110% of its abilities... but Rosberg has been giving 110% effort... which is why this fight is still close.

Circus in Japan about to be spoiled by a Cat 4 typhoon...

Japanese Grand Prix could be moved up due to Typhoon Phanfone
By: Nick DeGroot, News manager, Motorsport.com
    Posted: Yesterday at 5:31pm

Typhoon Phanfone is now a category four and is following a path that will hit the Japanese mainland hard. The predicted route has the most severe weather hitting Suzuka on Monday, but they will still be slammed by the rain and wind from the storm on Sunday. There are also concerns from the teams about getting out of Suzuka following the race.

With winds topping 130mph and the typhoon strengthening from a Cat. 1 to a Cat. 4 in a single day, this could be a potentially dangerous situation for everyone at the race track.

Bernie Ecclestone is not present at the track but has been communicating with Charlie Whiting about what should be done. Due to the inaugural Russian Grand Prix at Sochi happening next week, it would be a logistical nightmare for all if the race was pushed to a weekday. The only option seems to be starting the race earlier than its scheduled time.

Two options are seriously being weighed at the moment. The first would be to run the race earlier on Sunday and the second would be to get it done with on Saturday. The latter would leave TV partners and fans attending less than thrilled.

    A rarity in F1

Getting the race in is important, but getting everyone from the drivers to the fans safely out is of paramount importance. The last time a GP was started earlier than planned was the Dutch GP in 1970, which was going to overlap the World Cup. An F1 race hasn't been run on Saturday since the 1985 edition of the South African GP.

The FIA needs to make a decision quickly, but it's a gamble no matter what they choose to do.

Rosberg has done a good job on qualifying where the track and himself is his only enemy, whilst Lewis has repeatedly proven his dominance over actual races. As regards to the Bianchi incident, racing is already a dangerous sport - why make it more dangerous? Yes, danger adds flavor to the sport but at what price? It is mind boggling how the stewards let the race continue. Not enough light? Heavy rain? we have experienced far more extreme conditions says past f1 drivers, and that was it - "past".

    Update on Bianchi...prognosis is poor.

The following is the official release from the team and family of Jules Bianchi.A diffuse axonal injury is a form of traumatic brain injury that is common with car accidents. The damage occurs over a widespread area and can result in permanent damage for those who do recover. 90% of patients with this kind of affliction never wake up.

“This is a very difficult time for our family, but the messages of support and affection for Jules from all over the world have been a source of great comfort to us. We would like to express our sincere appreciation.

“Jules remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi. He has suffered a diffuse axonal injury and is in a critical but stable condition. The medical professionals at the hospital are providing the very best treatment and care and we are grateful for everything they have done for Jules since his accident.

“We are also grateful for the presence of Professor Gerard Saillant, President of the FIA Medical Commission, and Professor Alessandro Frati, Neurosurgeon of the University of Rome La Sapienza, who has travelled to Japan at the request of Scuderia Ferrari. They arrived at the hospital today and met with the medical personnel responsible for Jules’ treatment, in order to be fully informed of his clinical status so that they are able to advise the family. Professors Saillant and Frati acknowledge the excellent care being provided by the Mie General Medical Center and would like to thank their Japanese colleagues.

“The hospital will continue to monitor and treat Jules and further medical updates will be provided when appropriate.”

If he never recovers, better for him to move on...

The Doctor's View - it's hard to recover
Edward McKintosh - Consultant Neurosurgeon at London Bridge Hospital:

'A diffuse axonal injury is a complex condition and it is difficult to assess from the outside how a patient will react.

'An axonal injury is different to a blood clot or a tumour in the brain. The brain cells themselves become damaged, often with the connections between cells sheared off.

'That impairs the brain's ability to talk to itself. If deeper parts of the brain are injured this can affect blood pressure and a patient's heart rate, which can be fatal.

'Memory and personality can be affected and if it is severe, people often don't wake up. Bianchi has a chance, but it is an injury with a low recovery rate.'

Remember "the bucket of salt rumour" that Alonso will move to Red Bull and Vettel to Ferrari which now proved partially true???

'Hamilton signs for McLaren for 2015' - F1Today.net Formula 1 news

EXCLUSIVE: HAMILTON SIGNS FOR MCLAREN FOR 2015!
    Published on 08 Oct 2014 10:41

Lewis Hamilton has signed a contract for next season to return to his old team McLaren and spear head their new era with old partners Honda. The Brit has been battling all season long with team-mate Nico Rosberg for this years World title and only one of them can win it. As it currently stands, Hamilton is first with a ten point lead over Rosberg in the championship standings.

The pair have had a season of tension between them, with Belgium hitting the peak when Rosberg gave Hamilton a puncture after the pair clash on the second lap, which caused the Brit to retire later on in the race. Hamilton then claimed Rosberg admitted to doing it on purpose to prove a point, in which Nico denied the allegations.

Questions and rumours have been flying around the paddock all season about the Mercedes duo and in the latter part, the driver market.

F1Today.net has had sources reveal to them that Hamilton visited the Woking base three weeks ago to sign for the team starting from next season. The source said: "Lewis was in the Woking factory three weeks ago. He arrived by helicopter, had a conversation about two hours with the management and then left with a big smile on his face. He signed here, I can assure you. A seat fitting has not happened yet, but that will take place in the foreseeable future."

    Sebastian Vettel
At last weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing announced that Vettel would leave the team at the end of the season to join Ferrari. Daniil Kvyat, who is in his first season of F1 this year, would replace the four times World Champion at Red Bull and partner Daniel Ricciardo, who will enter his second year with the team in 2015.

    Fernando Alonso
Ferrari haven’t confirmed or denied Vettel joining the team but with it all but certain, this means that Alonso, who has been with the Italian outfit since 2010, will probably be moving teams as well. The question on everyone’s lips is where? Reports suggest McLaren, others Lotus and some saying a sabbatical is on the cards but here at F1Today.net, we are told he will take the vacant seat at Mercedes that Lewis Hamilton is leaving behind.

    Jenson Button
Another question that is being asked is who will leave McLaren but it is looking like the Woking based team will keep rookie Kevin Magnussen for a second season and ship 2009 World Champion, Jenson Button out. Rumours say that the Brit has been offered by Porsche to race for them in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) next season.

Redbull is looking ahead, but kyvat is not a super rookie that can replace seb.. Or maybe not in the next few years.. There are races in this 2014 season that exposed kyvat's raw experience..

Seb's a catch for any top tier teams, but ferrari should make a competitive car to maximize him..

With that on the move, will that bring kimi to retirement?

Kelan naging competitive ferrari cars? Hehe.

It's always about great drivers for the Italian team.

Totoo na nga Alonso to Mclaren and vettel to ferrari... Good for Alonso, no so much for vettel.

Last time Ferrari were worth talking about (as a team... and not just because of Alonso. ) was when they weren't run by an Italian.

The moment they decided to have Italians and only Italians at the head of the team, it went way downhill. At the same time, Red Bull and Mercedes were spending money pirating all the actually GOOD people (regardless of nationality) into their teams. Which is why they're on top and will stay there for at least another two or three years.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
