Another driver like that comes to mind, is Felipe Massa. But amazingly, Ferrari has faith in him by giving him a slot in the driver's seat next year.Originally Posted by slicker_boi

Of course, the Prancing Horse needs a driver to whom they can dictate for the sake of old Schumi. Massa is young, quick but sometimes nasty, much like junior Jacques. The guy is also doing some tests for the scarlet team, especially when Sauber used to sport Bridgestones.
Here's what BAR's Sporting Director has to say about Button...
It looks like we'll be having one heck of a race in 2006.Q: You’ve worked closely with Jenson Button over the past seven months. What are your impressions of him, and is he a future world champion?
GdF: “He’s a man who has been touched by God! His skill is just remarkable. He’s a driver like few I’ve seen before with a fine touch and an amazing feeling for the car. He has a tremendous amount of natural ability and there’s no question that he has the raw materials within him to achieve the ultimate success.”
Now if only Button can translate all this "touch by God" talk into podium finishes....
To be fair to Button, he scored the most points in 2004 besides the Ferrari drivers with (6) third and (4) second place finishes for that year. 2005 marked a big decline for Honda and BAR. Let's hope by next year, all that "touch of God" worship can translate into race wins. he he he
It would be interesting to see the results of BAR's 2006 driver's line-up. Will Rubens finally be the clear #1 driver for the team or will Button regal him again to his previous role (in Ferrari) of playing second fiddle.
Exactly the point. So this shows that Button is no different from Kimi and Juan Pablo. They are being dictated by the car.Originally Posted by number001
A driver who is really "touched by God" should get podium finishes even on a Squadra Toro Rosso.![]()
I think it's still early to confirm or deny Button's ability. At Benetton, Fisichella outshined him by far. At BAR, he's partnered with an uninspired Villeneuve and then a suicidal Sato. Barrichello finally gets the chance to perform as an ace driver at Honda, so we'll probably see what Jenson is really made of next year (forget about his maniacal perversion though).
...i guess that touch of god thing applies to motogp rider v.rossi. no more challenge in a honda, switched to an underachieving yamaha and still became world champ. sana may ganun sa F1.Originally Posted by BoyFerrari
Katherine Legge (see more of her here: http://www.gokatherine.com/) just finished her 1st round of testing for Squadra Torro Rosso - though it ended up in a minor accident.
She is now officially the first woman to test drive an F1.
Technically speaking, katherine Legge tested for Minardi.Originally Posted by mazdamazda

Michael Schumacher has insisted he is "99.9%" certain to end his career with Ferrari.
The seven-time world champion, whose Ferrari contract runs out at the end of this year, has been linked with big-money moves to Red Bull and Toyota for 2007.
Schumacher must decide whether he wants to hang up his helmet following the most successful career Formula One has ever known, with an announcement expected in the summer.
He has frequently stated his desire to end his career at Ferrari and on Thursday confirmed that plan, while not entirely ruling out a swansong with a rival team.
"I said that at mid-season I will decide if I want to go on or not go on, and 99% I do this with Ferrari if I go on," he said. "I should say 99.9%.
"When I said this sentence I made the comment that unfortunately I would rather say this because I don't want to lie and in life it is simply impossible to be 100% certain of what is going to happen. Therefore I see my future with Ferrari.
"Anyway, who can look so far in advance? And who can tell what is going to happen, particularly in our sport where things sometimes move rather quickly.
"As I said, I don't want to lie and therefore I am saying the truth and 99% that is what it is and then we will see."
If 2006 proves to be Schumacher last year in Formula One, the German wants to go out with a title win.
He has broken with tradition to take an active part in winter testing after a disastrous 2005 and he is encouraged by Ferrari's progress.
Schumacher said: "We seem to be on the right pace at the moment. In a way, we are surprisingly quick compared to the others, due to the good work that we have been doing for a long time.
"I think we can only have one target and that is to win the Championship, in particular after a year like last year where success was so poor to our standards.
"We would really like to come back to where we have been before, to fight for the Championship and maybe finally win it."
hmmm... one last championship for Schumi... and I'm pretty sure that he'll retire afterwards...
The talk of the town right now is Rosberg... even Jackie Stewart speaks positively about him.
Do you think that Williams struck gold with Rosberg?
