20 years ago, Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft become the most important european touring car championship alongside BTCC. The Cars were fast and the races were exciting. This is part 1 of my DTM Tribute.

Lean back and remember the time when Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft was the top touring car championschip series on planet. This is part two of my DTM Tribute.

Found this on some other site and I find the video interesting, even mesmerizing, so I posted it here.

It must be effin' exciting watching DTM racing during that era. I'm envious, only a few race series are left nowadays which races like they used to.

oohh oohh! i remember watching these on tv! yung era ng 190e-2.5 cosworth, m3 evo2, ford escort. drivers like claus ludwig ang i even distinctly remember a very young man driving for the mercedes Jr. team. He goes by the name of michael schumacher. very close to production cars yung gamit nila and very varied types of machinery. besides a race for the drivers it was a competition for engineering superiority.

tapos then came yung opel/vauxhaull calibra alfa 155 mercedes c-class and then the audi later. it was 4wd all of them versus the rear wheel drive benzes. all high tech with their f1 inspired 2.5lit v6 putting out aroung 450bhp and revving to 10500rpm (no mean feat back in the early 90's for tintop racing). Names like bernd schneider, jan magnussen, dario franchitti.

it was wheel to wheel,door to door and curbs were an invitation to run them over. i loved these together with the BTCC that time accords 320si sierra cosworth even a volvo 850wagon was racing. dami kasi manufacturers at dami din engine configurations. Sarap panoorin unlike ngayon with so strict guidelines basically without the different liveries e parepareho na yung auto halos. kahit magkaiba pa yun brand.

tsaka yes much as i like f1 e dito kitang kita ang shell ng auto ay road car pa din kahit laman loob nung auto e race car na talaga.

As it turns out, nalugi ang Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft dahil sa mga financial constraints... pero narevive din ito nung 2000 as Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters

Anlupet nung vid ahhh... parang gladiators yung mga drivers sa DTM.... my god, antindi!!!!
