There are lots of 4x4 drag race in the United States. 2 days ago, I watched the ESPN tough truck challenge. It was fun to watch especially those humongous trucks with big ass V8/V10 lickin engines.

For me, since i'm a former drag racer, I think offroading for me is much better and safer. There is also an adrenalin rush in 4wheeling.

In 4wheeling, there is a saying " Go slow as possible and as fast as necessary"

come to think of it..parang more challenge ang 4 wheeling compared to drag..

kasi sa 4 wheeling adrenelin on achieving fastest/specific time means that di ka masstuck sa obstacles..unlike sa drag..sudden rush of adrenalin for the target of less than 10 seconds..

pwede kaya delica ko sa light track lang?for experience.

Delica? Pwedeng pwede just be sure your suspension components are up to task to tackle the harshest environ in the Philippines. Usually, converted units from either Subic or off-site resellers convert their units using minimal setup and minor modification from RHD to LHD. The downside is that you might endanger yourself when going to extreme trails. The best thing to do is to have it all checked up and see if the suspension and steering components are intact and well converted.

    sir mikaztro,

set aside po ung conversion, do you think po:

shorthened air intake (can takcle waist deep water safely), 235/75r15 AT tires and 2 inch lift is enough for the trail?(dont know my ground clearance pero sabi sa site 210mm daw stock height ng delica on 215sr15)

    ok na for light trail?

Drag is 99% car. Off-roading requires a lot from the driver.

    NOT.

what about reaction times? shifting points? launch techniques?

not to mention the various inputs needed to fine-tune the car, testing, dyno, etc. heck, hand over a 500 hp car to a novice driver and am sure that he'll just smoke his tires all day long.

drag isn't better than off-roading and vice-versa. both need a diff set of skills & equipment. both get the respect of their various fans & supporters.

Rally na lang... you still need split second timing, good shifting and clutching techniques, proper tuning (all around), and the ability to adapt to different road situations and surfaces...

Drag? Not very interesting unless you're willing to spend a LOT of money.

Dirt? Much better... all you need are good tires and a nice track to start out on.

    Traffic? The best.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Having said 99% means doesn't mean a sure chance of winning. Everything you said is important, but a highly skilled dragster can only do so much if his car isn't that good. Takumi himself will stand no chance against the drivers he raced if it were the strip, no matter how great his skills are.

To make things simple, you have to come up with a brilliant machine first, and then that crucial 1% of skill comes in to translate to a win.

Mr. Squala might be overstating things a bit here, but I think his point is that when it comes to drag, all the great skills a driver has is meaningless if he doesn't have the fast car to begin with. We are only dealing with a straight line, with practically no varying conditions unlike all the other kinds of racing.
