    Galing ng bagong format ng qualifying. Mas ma-action and exciting.
    To have a better idea, below is the current format:

    QUALIFYING CHANGES
    * A new three-part qualifying system will be used in 2006, replacing the old one-lap shoot-out.
    * Qualifying will last one hour and drivers may put in as many laps as they want to during any of the three sessions as long as they haven't been eliminated.
    * The first session, which is 15-minutes long, will see all 22 drivers on track, each carrying a low fuel load. At the end of the session, the slowest six drivers will be eliminated and they will make up the final quarter of Sunday's grid filling the positions P17 to P22 in order of fastest to slowest.
    * A five-minute break will follow.
    * Following the break, the second 15-minute session will begin and the remaining 16 drivers will return to the track, once again carrying a low fuel load. At the end of the session, the slowest six will be eliminated and they will make up positions P11 to P16 on Sunday's grid in order of fastest to slowest.
    * A five-minute break will follow.
    * The final session, which is 20-minutes long, will see the final ten drivers battle for pole position. However, in this session they will have to carry the same amount of fuel that they plan to start the race with. The fastest driver will take P1, while the slowest will occupy P10 on the grid.

    I guess its also the same with MOTOGP. They also changed thier qualifications.

    Di ba Williams-Cosworth na ngayon? di na BMW? pero bilib din ako kay Nico Rosberg... Rokie palang pero ... nasa mid possition sa qualifying.... mukang magiging maganda ang future nya sa F1.

    Malas naman ni Kimi na aksidente sa kapabayan na naman ng McLaren... masyadong delikado na naman ang aksidente nya....

    Pero mukang maganda talaga ang hinaharap ng Ferrari at Honda this year.

    AFAIK, Peter Sauber sold his team to BMW. Thus, the team BMW-Sauber where Villeneuve & Heidfeld at the wheels.

    And this leaves the Williams F1 team minus the BMW power. Thus, its now Williams with Webber & Rosberg as their drivers.

    Aga nga malasin ni Kimi. IMO, Ferrari & Honda are battling it out this year pero strong pa din ang Renault, Mclaren and other teams can pull off some surprises din.

    Anyways, the season is just starting but the fierce rivalry and competiiton among the drivers are at the highest level this early on....

    IMHO with this format Alonso must take a grip of that championship trophy...knowing MS he will go strong this season before bowing out....SWAN SONG....LAST DANCE....

    for once im rooting for him...GO MS.... GO KIMI na rin he..he

    I hope Michael can end this season on a high by winning the championship before he retires, if he will ever retire. :D

    I'm also rooting for Kimi. He is very capable of winning the championship (even more than Alonso, IMO) but its that lousy Mclaren keep on letting him down. Some things never change, since it also let Mika Hakkinen down so many times as well a few years ago.

    But Mika actually managed to get his championships with McLaren. It's always a crap-shoot really, a roll of the dice on whether McLaren will last out the championship.

    This is what a lot of Ecclestone critic is using to criticize the current qualifying format.

    they (the critic) are saying that the teams are just burning off (read wasting and not green friendly) fuel running around the track waiting for the right moment to make that qualifying run. IMO somewhat true, maybe F1 should revise this.

    what's your take on this?

    I'd be a bit Jeremy Clarkson on this and tell those "environmentalists" to **** off. What next, F1 drivers running (on foot) around the track so as not to "waste fuel"?

    I observed nga that in the last session of qualifying, they are literally burning fuels. Imagine 10 cars go around the track in span of 20 minutes just to catch up the best time. In as far as the last 2 GP Qualifying sessions, nasa last minute talaga yun talagang action and they just go around the track heating and changing those tires in the first 15 minutes....


    Tapos the silly rule where same fuel before the last session and during the start of the race, eh di nagtapon ka nga lang kung ano inilagay mo.

    Ngar! ngar! gulo noh?

    Dapat yung dating qualifying rules na lang a couple of years back IMO! At least yun kita mo agad how the other driver did eh ngayon hataw si driver tapos malalaman mo laglag din pala only after the session.

    Great Race * Bahrain....

    1 - Alonso
    2 - Schumi
    3 - Kimi

    Great battle between MS & Alonso all throughout the 57 laps. Critical lahat ng moves, just a mistake could mean the race result....

    Partida si Kimi, come from behind....really behind coz he's at the back of the grid nung start.


    Ganda ng race.....looking forward to the next....

    galing ng alonso-schumi battle! heck, alonso won this one with a lot of help from his team to strategize his last pitstop!

    dami ring magandang labanan in the middle of the pack... klien, heidfeld, dc, etc! sayang si villenueve... umapoy yung kotse!

    medyo ganda rin ng strategy ng mclaren... naka full tank siguro si kimi during the start of the race... tapos from 22nd naka take advantage siya sa opening grid... nasa 13th na yata siya after the 1st lap.

    Sayang si Massa. Made a move. Didn't make it. Flat spotted his tires. Pitted to change tires. Lug nut got stuck. Out of the points tuloy sya.

    Kimi from last place to third was phenomenal. Sanay na rin sya dito hehe.

    Nico Rosberg. 2 points on his first race. Fastest lap pa.

    Mas gusto ko qualifying ngayon. Di sya boring compared dati. Daming cars on track. Nakakasira ng araw ang trafik.
