Has anyone experienced having their 996 RMS repaired locally? How much did it cost and where can you have it repaired aside from PGA

    Thanks

    Ouch. That's a big job.

Since it's a know failure issue (a BIG issue) with those engines, try to see if they will still warranty the part. Otherwise, you'll probably have to go to an outside shop that's experienced in ordering parts from overseas, and be prepared for a loooong wait for parts.

Your 996 unlike other car, the rear main seal on a 996 does not have a stop behind it, if you push too hard on the seal and it goes backwards it will fall inside the engine and then it cost you more than ever.

Do not settle your 996 for less, unless you know that they are factory trained technician.

A lot. Surplus might be a couple of hundred thousand. Brand new, probably worth a Corolla... or two...

A surplus one would still have the RMS problem, though.
