    There are allegations that the video being circulated has been edited to put Mar in a bad light. Romualdez may have quoted the "president is an Aquino, you're a Romualdez" bit, but that could be taken out of context. Ang explanation naman ni Mar, sinabi niya in the context that any agreement, transfer of power, etc. should be done very very carefully, since an Aquino and a Romualdez is involved, kaya dapat maingat sila, dapat mutual agreement, pareho ang sinasabi sa mga press releases.

    Pag umutot ka sa loob ng elevator, the best way to divert attention from yourself is to shout "sinong umutot?"

    Unfortunately, a lot of people fail to see it that way. Basic naman yan eh. It's a given that there is great historical anonymity between the two camps (Aquino and Romualdez nga eh) so it is better to put things down in writing. Yun nga lang, spin doctors made good use of it.

    crisostomo_ibarra_the3rd:

    I will give you a specific example of why Roxas was insisting of the delegation of authority. How would you effect curfew to arrest looting? You can only implement curfew through the city council. Roxas kept on asking, can you get a quorum to pass a curfew ordinance? The crying mayor cannot even effect it. SO why not delegate the police function and security to the national government and do the other functions it can.

    The issue is so simple. As Roxas said, the city mayor as chief executive remains to be in charge. He will be collecting his taxes, making their budget, etc. But in this situation of crisis, the chief executive has to act and list down the functions he can no longer perform so that the national government can effect what is required.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++

    The letter is necessary. For how can you issue a curfew ordinance if the LDRRMC cant even get a quorum of the city council? As LDRRMC head, by delegating the security function to the national government, the national government structure can issue the curfew directive.
    this is true. pero ayaw mawala sa eksena ng mayor eh. now marami ang napaniwala na si boy palengke ang cause ng delay of relief.
    pareho lang silang namumulitika and ngayon simpatya ng fb netizens eh na kay romualdez.

    i learned this the hard way: if you suspect mapulitika yung kausap mo, the less words, the better. Wag na marami borloloy baka balikan ka pa nun

    WORKING WELL. Tacloban City administrator Tecson Lim downplays the brewing tension between President Aquino and Mayor Romualdez. Photo by Rappler

    TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines – What tension? As far as Tacloban City Administrator Tecson Lim is concerned, the local and national governments have a "very good working relationship," he told media on Tuesday, November 19.

    Lim was reacting to a report in the Philippine Daily Inquirer that said Interior and Local Secretary Mar Roxas asked Tacloban Mayor Alfred Romualdez to write President Benigno Aquino III a letter "to inform him that he can no longer function as mayor and he is surrendering authority to [Roxas]."

    The newspaper was quoting Alex Avisado, who is supposedly Romualdez's lawyer.

    "There is no inkling na talagang gusto niya, or nag-express na gusto niyang matanggal si mayor," he said. (There is no inkling nor did he express it in any way that he wants Mayor Romualdez out.).....

    Incompetent FOOL

    With this disaster we can differentiate a competent local official from those who are not

    Competent officials have minimal casualty despite the destruction wrought by the super typhoon
