Philippine President Benigno Aquino drops by Jollibee at Lucky Plaza during Singapore visit - The Straits Times

    Published on Nov 19, 2014 2:52 PM

SINGAPORE - Philippine President Benigno Aquino made a pitstop at Jollibee in Lucky Plaza on Wednesday, the second and final day of a visit here.

He was received like a rock star by a small gathering of Filipinos, who cheered and clamoured to take photos of him as he dined at the Orchard Road shopping mall outlet.

Jollibee is a fast food chain from the Philippines known for its crispy fried chicken. The Lucky Plaza branch is the only one in Singapore.

Psychologist Din Din Tagorda, 61, was shopping in the area and decided to wait at Lucky Plaza to catch a glimpse of President Aquino.

"I admire the President because he is very clean and kind, and I feel that the Philippines has made progress under him," said Ms Tagorda, who has been in Singapore for four years.

Kung hindi tatakbo si Mirriam,Trillanes or Gibo, I will rather go for PNOY than Binay. Looking at Trillanes, he is impressive as a senator. He is the fourth best performing senator. He also has good laws that are useful.

I like Pnoy but some of his cabinet members are clearly bayad utang positions.

I hope MDS or Gordon would run. In fairness as well, I think the young Angara is quite good - he has great ideas, like his bill for lowered income taxes.

The HK hostage fiasco and the Tacloban disaster shows how limited PNoy's brain really is.

I'll still vote for Pnoy if Mirriam S., Gibo T. and Duterte won't run for the post. I can't think of anyone who is qualified and not corrupt. Pnoy is not corrupt and serious in demolishing those corrupt gov't officials. God bless the Phils. 🙏🙏🙏

i will not vote for anyone. same old elitist crap that has been going since the 1900s.

stuck pa din sa 19th century ang thinking sa Pinas. napaka-feudal pa ng society. ang mga nasa pwesto ang may pinakamaraming lupa.
