tinanong ko yan sa mga officemate kong mga expats dati.......
sagot nila? nightlife. girls, beer is cheap.
but traffic sucks.
ako, no choice. taga rito ako eh. masaya dito sa tin. dami corrupt, dami scam, dami rin scandal.![]()
Life is much easier here tbh. People just have preconceived notions that everything is better abroad.
You can get away with anything in fact.
Erap na lang eh, plunder na naging mayor pa.
1. Masarap pagkaing pinoy
2. Mura damit
3. Nakakabili ng murang stik-o at chocnut haha

I do have some friends that live very comfortably here in Manila but chose to live abroad. There isn't much variety on what to do here kasi (music, arts, sports etc). Puro na lang mall, beach, restaurant etc.

So do I (my sister is the closest example). One can never have the best of both worlds, reality wise.
You may not have the nicest house in the block... but home is where the heart is.
If given a choice, i'd rather live in the province. The rest of the world, one can always travel to see the sights if budget permits.

I am in Manila roughly 5 months in a year. The only things I like about living in the Philippines is that my friends and family are here. All my close friends are the ones I met when I was a little kid. My mum has decided to move back as well for the milder weather.
na assigned ako in different places like sydney, seoul & chicago. & during those times, inaabot ako ng december doon. boring! iba ang pasko sa ibang bansa. pinas pa rin when it comes to celebrating xmas & new year.
Ang daming expat retirees who permanently settled down dito lang sa amin. Some of them ay mga small beach resort owners.
They blendly well with the locals kasi mostly naka-shorts lang at walang pang itaas habang naggagala sa tabi ng kalsada kahit tanghaling tapat. at patungga-tungga ng smb sa gabi with matching live folksingers playing western music. It's really fun in the philippines...buhay hari sila.
My family is having difficulty adapting city life kaya hayun stuck pa rin dito sa province... lots of thing fresher here. Kaya hirap isipin na aalis sa lupang sinilangan.
Dunno with the kids...because one of them is happily working in the land of kiwi
