Life is much easier here tbh. People just have preconceived notions that everything is better abroad.

I do have some friends that live very comfortably here in Manila but chose to live abroad. There isn't much variety on what to do here kasi (music, arts, sports etc). Puro na lang mall, beach, restaurant etc.

So do I (my sister is the closest example). One can never have the best of both worlds, reality wise.

You may not have the nicest house in the block... but home is where the heart is.

If given a choice, i'd rather live in the province. The rest of the world, one can always travel to see the sights if budget permits.

I am in Manila roughly 5 months in a year. The only things I like about living in the Philippines is that my friends and family are here. All my close friends are the ones I met when I was a little kid. My mum has decided to move back as well for the milder weather.

This is my dream life. Live half of the year abroad and half in the Philippines

Same here. I think provincial living is better than living in the city.

Ditto here as well. That's why I go home every now and then, when schedules permit.

On one end of the farm will be my car barn.

I salivate when i used to go to the farms of my dad's friends in Calatagan, Lipa and Sto. Tomas. With matching Range Rover and jet-ski pa sa driveway ng weekend home and stables nila.

Ang daming expat retirees who permanently settled down dito lang sa amin. Some of them ay mga small beach resort owners.
They blendly well with the locals kasi mostly naka-shorts lang at walang pang itaas habang naggagala sa tabi ng kalsada kahit tanghaling tapat. at patungga-tungga ng smb sa gabi with matching live folksingers playing western music. It's really fun in the philippines...buhay hari sila.

My family is having difficulty adapting city life kaya hayun stuck pa rin dito sa province... lots of thing fresher here. Kaya hirap isipin na aalis sa lupang sinilangan.
Dunno with the kids...because one of them is happily working in the land of kiwi
