transparency will solve nothing. our government is so corrupt to the root that no matter what we do it won't solve our problem with corruption. the only thing that can solve it is if we replace every single one of them with new people that hasn't experience corruption yet.

September 18th, 2013 10:41 AM #12Corny na kung corny, but at the root of it all, we have to regain a sense of national pride -- in this context, to hold ourselves to higher standards that is expected of being Filipino, a sense that this country is too good to got to waste by selling our votes, by letting corruption run rampant for so many generations.
Quite frankly i don't think that will happen anytime soon. imho we lost that pride a long long time ago.

Well, the fundamental problem is the government's current scope is too broad. The bigger it is, the more corruption is widespread. There's a good reason why a limited and small government is ideal. I think Rizal would think the same if he's alive.
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

i dont think we can do anything for those people who are now currently sitting.
kundi, mauubos ang 25% population ng pilipinas. madami pa tayong hindi nakikita for corruption sits in most places in government, maski wala sa itaas yan. try to look into how each department operates, madami pa dyan..... s LGUs, sa barangay....
what we can do?
a) change the constitution, incorporate more transparency controls.
b) remove unnecessary budget entries... dapat may 3rd party audits yan bago ang approval.... medyo mabusisi pero it will work.
c) change the mindset of people who are working in government.... question is how? medyo madugo ito.
d) strengthen the COA, or incorporate a private sector audit process for all government-related transactions.
e) conduct revisions on the procedures of voter qualifications... pwedeng qualified voters eh dapat taxpayers, o kung hindi taxpayers, dapat nakatapos ng at least high school. pwede din ang voters eh mangaling sa class A, B and C lang. Could be discriminatory, pero ang nauuto is yung mga nangagaling sa sector na sinasabing nasa poverty level. The question is how can this be qualified? Galing sa BIR?
f) transparency on all election related qualifications for candidates. i feel parang kulang pa. hindi enough yung SAL disclosures.
g) if all else fails..... either we leave the country, migrate somewhere..... or pray that it will all change.

Ano ba ang main reason at corrupt mga government official. Kulang ba ang sweldo nila (pwede naman taasan) or talagang ganid lang sila sa salapi.
