Having it controlled by one country or a group of countries with one ideology is a weapon of sort... Best to have a world currency free from any politicking.

and the dollar being the reserve currency gives the US tremendous power over the rest of the world

if they don't like you, they can cut you off from the dollar system

they can impose sanctions on your banks so your banks cannot send and receive dollars

that cuts off your country from international trade and you're paralyzed

that's why there's a need to replace the dollar with something neutral

no single country should be allowed to impose its will on the rest of the world

i was making a point that Trump is accelerating the need for the world to find another currency to replace the dollar

and honestly don't know what currency that will be

i would have insisted on the RMB but i didn't coz i see the RMB's present limitations

but of course, being one of my haters, you ignored my whole post and focused on that little thing i said "baka sabihin maka-China ako"

but the RMB isn't freely traded

China still controls the value of the RMB

if they want the RMB to go global, they gotta relax that control

i see limitations in the RMB going global

that's why i said "it may not be the RMB"

Green buck is more credible even with the apparent isolationism because it foot the bill for the rehabilitation of western europe after the 2nd world war
