Naniniwala ang kapatid ni Roger “Rod" Strunk, asawa ng pinaslang na aktres na si Nida Blanca na posibleng aksidente at hindi suicide ang dahilan kamatayan ng una, ayon sa ulat ng isang pahayagan sa California, USA.

Sinabi ni Sharry Grove, kapatid ni Strunk sa pahayagang Tracy Press nitong Sabado (araw sa US), na hindi magagawa ng kanyang kapatid na magpakamatay.

“That wouldn’t have been something that Roger would have done ... We really feel like it would have been an accident," ani Grove.

Idinagdag pa ni Grove na walang dahilan para sa kanyang kapatid na tumalon mula sa ikalawang palapag ng gusali na may taas na tinatayang 20 talampakan.

“I don’t know how they came up with that. That would be very out of character for my brother," aniya. “He went through a lot of tough times, but suicide isn’t something Roger would do."

Wala pang plano ang pamilya ni Strunk kung kailan ito ililibing pero mayroon na umanong memorial service na itinakda sa July 29 sa Good Shepherd Church sa Tracy, California.

Una rito, inihayag ng pulisya sa Tracy na posibleng suicide ang pagkamatay ni Strunk nitong Miyerkules ng umaga.

Nakita ang kanyang labi sa parking lot ng Tracy Inn. Basag ang bungo nito at nakitang dumudugo ang ilong na posibleng dahilan umano ng pagkakahulog.

Pahayag ni Detective Dean Hicks, isang babae ang nakakita sa nakahandusay na katawan ni Strunk subalit walang nakasaksi sa pagkahulog nito.

Ang katawan ni Strunk ay nakita sa ibaba ng balkonahe katapat ng inuupahan nitong kuwarto sa nakalipas na tatlong araw.

Walang nakitang suicide note ang mga imbestigador pero isang upuan na nakasalungat sa dingding ang nakita nila sa balkonahe.

Sinabi ni Hicks na mayroon marka ng sapatos sa upuan na indikasyon na tumayo si Strunk sa upuan.

Dating singer sa US si Strunk bago nito nakarelasyon si Blanca sa Pilipinas.

Pinatay noong 2002 si Blanca at si Strunk ang itinuturong pangunahing suspek ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Ngunit bago pa man siya makasuhan ng NBI, lumipad patungo ng US si Strunk para damayan ang may-sakit na ina ngunit hindi na bumalik sa Pilipinas.

Napaglaman na muling nag-asawa si Strunk sa US ngunit hindi rin ito nagtagal.

Hmmm...ironically, Strunk leaped to his death and landed on a parking area,and Nida was murdered in a parking area as well.

No suicide note was found. Although his room door was barricaded by a chair. At any rate, the details are lacking. What I'd like to know is how Rod Strunk was making a living in the US, considering that he's old and a total washout. Because he may have killed himself for other reasons (financial difficulties perhaps?)

Strunk may have had the motive to kill Nida Blanca, but his death does not vindicate hers per se. There are still accomplices to pursue and bring to justice.
