ACTOR Richard Gomez wants to be senator, Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada said in a press conference Tuesday.
“He went to our house yesterday [Monday] and asked for advice,” Estrada said. “My father advised him to think about his plan to run for the Senate for two weeks. He is aspiring to be a senator. He says [his name] has a national recall.”
Gomez was initially reported to have been eyeing the Bulacan gubernatorial seat.
Asked if Gomez would get a slot in the opposition ticket that his father, former president Joseph Estrada, was putting up, the senator said, “It all depends on his decision. [If he decides to run for the Senate], we might try to squeeze him in.”
