The gunman probably watched the entrie seriea of Ocen 11 to 13.
The problem is he counldnt recruit 10 more accomplices so he ended with Ocean 1.
It could have been a perfect heist if he targetted the cash instead of the chips, tear gas instead of burning tables, and a fireman/security custume on the way out.

Is it true most of the dead were found inside comfort rooms?
They probably got overlooked during the rescue, they most likely stayed silent to avoid getting attention from the gunman. In a normal fire scenario there could be no casualty , but because there is a threat, instead of running the victims decidec to sit it out,, using the cr as a refuge, until smoke overwhelmed them.

From the video, they have enough lead time to run out of the gaming section, before the gunman started the fire.

there is logical-but-not-really, reflex thinking, that in case of fire, the safest place is where there would be lots of water.
alas, they did not think of the smoke... , which, as someone above already opined, is sucked into the room via the bathroom vents.
