I don't think most people bear in mind the First Commandment.
At least the church should do something about it.
It is an act of worship na kasi ginagawa natin sa mga rebulto na to.
It is stated clearly in the 10 commandments:
“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments."
Cathy, I suggest huwag mo nalang i tuloy yung balak mo if you still believe in the commandments above.
Sa safety na rin, grabe ang daming desidido talaga to confront the Nazareno without thinking they also compromised other's safety.
Taimtim na panalangin with a will and belief that Jesus will help us to achieve things is still the most powerful thing that we can do.
This week naman will be the feast of Sto. Nino which will feature the Ati Atihan, Sinulog and Dinagyang (toward the end of January) festivals but they are way more orderly and solemn.
Pilgrims can line-up in the church if they wish to see the Sto. Nino.
I think available siya most of time Sunday weekly.
Usually, mag request ka lang sa naka assign dun to hand over the handkerchief.
Ipahid lang nung caretaker sa imahe yung handkerchief at tapos na.
During procession naman, peaceful naman during the procession at walang nagfoforce to enter the procession just to touch the image.
Not sure ano difference ng mga paniniwala sa Nazareno compare to Sto Nino.
Similar lang din naman yung testimonies that many got better upon touching the images.
He is NOT available for touching the rest of the year so you get only one chance a year.

Oh. I thought they at least still attached the head OR hand na original (400 yr old)
Fr Jun mentioned na they requested for Jan 9 to be a national holiday. I hope that gets approved! I was shocked that people fly or travel pala to Manila for the translacion. Hindi pa sinasagot hiling ko for a good job but I made a promise that I will donate to the church a significant portion of my first salary![]()

It's so overwhelming to watch the Translacion. I think more people attended this year compared to 2024. Last year the pagdungaw was around 3 pm, but now it's at 6 pm. The current rector (Fr Jun Sescon) is really good but he got promoted to Bishop so I wonder who will replace him.
