As long as the Catholic Church has considerable influence over the people and politicians, having any form of birth control or contraceptives in impossible.

So we should see poor couples to have 5-10 children.

Depends on where you look. We just have too high a population density in the urban areas like Metro Manila.

And then the other side of the problem is often a big extended family is relying on a single income earner. Not a good formula to raise oneself out of poverty or raise one's social status.

tama kaya ipatupad ang 2 child policy?
It has it's merits. But how do you enforce such a policy? Forced sterilization of both husband and wife upon having the 2nd child?

at yung family program etc etc?
Just advertising condoms and letting the people access to condoms is already a big political problem. Having a proper family planning program? Not likely if we keep on going like the government has been in the past. No political will, no future, no growth.

Sa Pinas....bakit kasi, kung sino pa yung mga naghihirap, naghihikahos sa buhay, yun ang marami anak? Pansin ko yan sa mga squatters, or yung liblib na lugar sa mga provinces.

Sir, lack of formal education is one of the contributing factors why poor people has more kids.

Another is lack of health teaching on the benefits of having minimal kids.

Lack of political will, church interference, partisan views regarding family planning are also contributing factors on our booming population.

to people who have virtually no assets, children are their only assets

Their children are their only way out of poverty

out of 8 or 10 kids... maybe 1 or 2 could hit the jackpot and pull the whole family out of poverty

one of them could marry rich or make it big abroad

    or maging artista

one of them could turn out to be good in business... or politics

it's a long term bet for the poor

they make babies, raise them, and hope that in the future their bet pays off

I think their thinking is the more kids they have the more chances that one of them will hit jackpot and somehow alleviate them. Of course I tend to disagree with it. I would rather have one kid and put all my resources into and IMo will yield a higher chance of jackpot.

Kapag poor mas marami talaga mag-anak, they think for the moment. They are not forward thinkers. Ang sama nito karamihan ng street children ay bunga ng mga anak ng mahihirap. Marami sa mga street children ay nagiging petty criminals, bukas kotse or snatchers. Sa pag tanda graduate sila in to being pusakal na kriminal. Unwanted children is the cause of high crime rates in an area. This has been proven under freakonomics.

Sa mahihirap, the only thing free for them as a form of entertainment is ***. The rest have cost which restrict them as wala na nga makain, they won't deal with contraceptives.

In the event goverment provide free contraceptives, huwag lang "made in china" will be effective.

RH law has been suspended indefinitely, c/o Team Tatay.

Regardless though, i think it would still be the same, RH law or no RH law, Church lobby or no church lobby. Sometimes trouble comes looking for you, sometimes(more often than not) we go looking for trouble.

i remember an exchange a HS classmate of mine had with my math teacher. My classmate said if there were no men, there would be no more kids, no more society. My teacher responded, something to this effect: "kung magiging katulad mo rin, e wag na lang!"

People are a nation's most vital resource...but only if they are productive.

overpopulated because we have ideal living conditions here-good weather, where a homeless man can just sleep on the street and survive.

overpopulated because of our lazy culture, too much idle time, so walang gagawin kungdi mag ***

Metro Manila lang ang overpopulated, just 30km away from the Metro, hindi na. I always pass by carriedo going to recto and grabe tao diyan, also near quiapo church, we are an infestation. i always imagine what would it be like when there is no people around in that area

lahat naman ng tao gusto ng ***. so i don't think it's the poor's fault na marami silang anak. if they are well informed, they would enjoy *** and have less children.

And an enviroment to be productive. With little oppurtunities because of a closely controlled economy, many end up as OFWs. Something our idiot goverment is proud of...

Hoping that their child would be the next Pacquiao eh... when in most cases they end up as the gin drinking tambay sa kanto, snatcher, magnanakaw, etc. Tapos pag napatay dahil may ginawang kalokohan, iyak si magulang sa TV Patrol habang sinasabing: "mabuti siyang anak... siya ang aahon sa amin sa kahirapan...."

Idleness ang major cause niyan I'd guesss.... If your mind is preoccupied with other things such as work, family, exercise and other activities, you're not always thinking of ***. Couple that with lack of information, discipline and training on safe ***... ayan, mag racing na kayo sa kuneho sa padamihan.
