However, Aquino’s former spokesman, Edwin Lacierda, said the network in 2014 had caused a bill to be filed to renew its franchise but then withdrew it, citing “time constraints” and “opted” to reapply under the next presidency.

And the next 2 quarters would probably be negative as well if not worse.

The Philippine banking system is strong, I believe they can weather this.

I am more worried with the unemployment problem. Dami na tinanggal at tatanggalin pa esp sa tourism and tourism related industries like food establishment, accomodation, pasalubong centers and the automotive industry.

Manufacturing din ang baba output for sure for some companies. Lay-offs din aabutin niyan.

La din new industry that could accommodate some of these workers like public works since Build Build Build funds would most surely be lessened as a consequence of the pandemic.

that's pretty sad. i used to have lots of friends working there when it first opened. hopefully, it's just temporary. dami din mawawalan ng trabaho doon.

i guess the euphoria of davao city being the new business hub of mindanao has been cut short. ang dami pa naman bagong hotels nag open dyan dahil nga nanalo si digong.

NCR mayors want 15 day extension

    walang katapusan ito

the more they test the more infected people they'll find

they'll be shocked and it will be harder for them to lift the lockdown

Q2 will definitely be much worse

sa Q1 wala pa lockdown Jan Feb and half of March... only the other half of March ang lockdown and we got a 0.2% contraction

in Q2 we already lost the whole of April and half of May and we could lose the other half

lockdown pa more pupulutin sa kangkongan ang economy ng Pinas

A hypothetical question - what if a 2nd wave and a 3rd wave happen? Will it not overwhelm the healthcare system and spike the curve up? In this scenario, lifting the ECQ will end up screwing the economy more.

In my own selfish way, why support a government who runs this country like a family business? Let the economy crumble so people will realize there is a need for a leadership change.

as i posted in the other page,
lifting and extending both have their pros and cons.
we can weigh them against each other,
but eventually, the person who will have to make the decision is going to have to make one big gamble.

    btw,
testing for positives is only half the issue.
what to do with the positives, is the other half.
