Dollar outflow seen accelerating | Inquirer Business

The central bank now expects dollar outflows due to the Philippines’ trade imbalance to rise by over three times its original forecast as the value of the country’s imports continues to outpace what it earns from exports.

In a press briefing over the weekend, officials of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said the country’s current account would likely end the year at a deficit of $3.1 billion, equivalent to 0.9 percent of gross domestic product.

This represents a 342-percent increase over the original deficit projection of $700 million that its economists announced in late 2017.

this build build build is bad timing

just when US interest rates are rising, $$$ flowing out of EM, we have this strong demand for $$$ for lots of imports

not to mention the demand for $$$ going forward as govt and corporates need to pay $$$ obligations

7.20 peso tax on 7 peso juice

    wtf
dapat naman talga mag-close na yan zesto, i mean pano nangyari mas mura pa sa mineral water yan zesto drink nila? ano ba iniinom ng tao dyan, kakatakot .

part of the train law bill is to filter these low quality manufacturers na nag-cutthroat lang ng leading brands by P5-P8, tapos nakapagpatayo na ng full scale business. I wonder what will happen to pop cola, and also diba even yan zesto may softdrinks laging 3 for P100, tipong 3 1liter. katakot grabe

Pop Cola? I don't see that one anymore. I think it was bought out by another cola brand to "kill" it as it has a similar taste on their brand.

Sarsi is still selling at Jollibee. I remember there was this trend a few years ago, you pour Sarsi in a glass and mix it with fresh egg. You gulp it in one go. Anyone here did it?
