if enrile hasn't, it's more apocryphal than the unvarnished truth. whatever floats the boat of this fellow. remember his purported ambush on the eve of the declaration of martial law.
Thanks for the info. I tried to search online and it seems that you are right, it is more apocryphal. My GF told me that she got the story from her professor.

it all boils down to one thing, and that is whatever you believe in, you have no right to humiliate other people's beliefs. One of the fundamentals of humanity and peaceful co-existence, tolerance and respect. Tolerating is not the same with agreeing. A lot of other popular people have anti-LGBT sentiments too, but they didn't get this much sh!t bec. they explained it with a little more respect and was politically correct with their statements. That being said, it is extremely hard to ignore this hotly contested topic because if we do not give it the right attention, we have possibly millions of countrymen now and in the future that's going to be affected.

If you are against LGBT, I urge you then to think what if magka anak ka ng isa or ang kapatid mo pala ay hindi ang inakala mo. You'd still want these people to get the benefits that married men/women do. that's what this is all about, extending the rights and benefits. Just because iba ang trip nila doesn't mean they do not deserve those things.

in the coming May elections, let's all think about kung sino ang katulad ni pacman, at kung sino ang hinde. because we cannot afford them lawmakers to get this wrong, we have millions of lgbt affected, and mahirap ibahin ang batas.

i noticed you keep mentioning free will like you know what it is. you think you have free will?

lets try an experiment. choose between purple and pink.

you think you have free will to choose between purple and pink. but that's just an illusion. a subsystem in your brain has already decided what to choose before you were even conscious of that decision

    food for thought

Before this brouhaha Manny Pacquiao was not in my list of senators although I admire him for his accomplishment that gave pride and recognition for our country, but now I will make sure he is on my list as our conscience to be in the midst of this Christian nation.

If we can afford actors, entertainers, news readers, why not Manny Pacquiao. This is truly a blessing in disguise!

As Congressman representing one of the poorest provinces in the Philippines, he didn't pass one single bill, even at the committee level.

He has one of the worst attendance record in Congress (4 sessions only in 2014) while still getting full salary for himself and his staff plus all the perks and privileges of his office.

He professes to be a Godly man but has no qualm actively campaigning for one of the most corrupt politicians in the world.

Only stupid people will vote him for the Senate.

bro flipo, i was ALMOST persuaded by your line of reasoning. i agree MP should be commended for what he did-- bringing us pride as a boxer, coming out with his belief and steadfastly standing up for them despite of the backlash and bashing of vice ganda or boy abunda etc. (who is not even half the man as pacquiao) -- but, on deeper reflection, he might be a blessing in disguise to some people but he might not be so to the senate. i think this is the main, if not the only, issue-- what would he do if he would become a senator of the republic?

our senate was once a formidable citadel of philippine politics populated by people like jose diokno, claro m. recto,* jose avelino, ninoy aquino, arturo tolentino, jose yulo, lorenzo tañada, ferdinand marcos, jovito salonga, BUT what is happening now? we have lito lapid, bong revilla, and the like. look how the senate has degraded itself into a joke that it is now today, and you want manny in the fold?

no doubt we all have the right of suffrage, and that right bestows upon us the power to send people to the halls of congress who will represent us for the next six years to craft wholesome and reasonable laws. thus, it is but fitting and proper that we must exercise that right with utmost caution and responsibility. the only yardstick is-- is the person we are going to vote good for the country? is manny pacquiao who cannot even express himself clearly good for the country?

Thanks bro for your respectful opinion and observation, still it is a blessing in disguise and it has done it's purpose of jolting our nation for this brouhaha.

Let's assume for a moment that he is capable and sincere about being congressman/senator -- his attendance record as congressman is already telling. If you can't choose your constituents over PPV money, then you have no place in the House of Representatives.

The fact that he did not retire as a boxer, as well as his other pursuits, when he won as congressman tells you a lot about just how "dedicated" he is to the job. And i don't buy that b.s. about how he can juggle all those jobs because he's Manny freaking Pacquiao -- the Filipino people deserve your undivided attention, period.
