Hopefully Pacquiao won't put into legislation his religious beliefs and then make the bible the constitution of the country if indeed he becomes a senator, then soon after the president...

Ex-WWE wrestler Bautista calls Pacquiao an 'idiot' over LGBT comments
Filipino-American wrestler/actor Dave Bautista calls Manny Pacquiao a 'f--king idiot' for saying that same-*** couples were 'worse than animals'

MANILA, Philippines - Dave Bautista may have stood behind Manny Pacquiao when he fought Ricky Hatton in 2009, but the former WWE star isn't standing behind his recent comments on same-*** marriage.

Bautista, a Filipino-American wrestler who performed in the WWE under the name Batista, tells TMZ that he thinks Pacquiao is a "f--king idiot" after the 8-division boxing champion said gay couples were "worse than animals."

Pacquiao, 37, is in training for what he says is his final bout on April 9 against Timothy Bradley Jr in Las Vegas. Pacquiao has continued training despite the distractions, which include being dropped by Nike.

Bautista, who recently starred in the Marvel Comics film "Guardians of the Galaxy," revealed that his mother is a lesbian, adding to his displeasure in Pacquiao's comments.

"My mom happens to be a lesbian so I don't f*cking take that sh*t," said Bautista.

"I don't think it's funny. If anyone called my mother an animal I'd stick my foot in his ass."

Bautista's interest in fighting is well documented, having competed in one professional mixed martial arts fight and accompanying Pacquiao on his ring walk against Ricky Hatton in 2009 for a fight Pacquiao won by second round knockout.

Bautista added that he still has respect for Pacquiao as a fighter - "But as far as his opinions, stick that up your ass."

Bautista's friend Nonito Donaire Jr also voiced his opinion on Pacquiao's comments, stating on his Facebook account that he hopes they don't lead to violence against homo***uals.

Donaire left the door open for the matter to blow over, writing "This too shall pass and soon it'll be April 9." – Rappler.com

Ah... Lot of that going around...

The problem with us Filipinos... lead off with emotions... leaving no room for middle ground.

But then, that's true of people around the world, I guess.

I think it should basically boil down to live and let live. The problem here is that our legislators can't seem to understand that. They think their personal beliefs should be all that matters in legislation.

That's the kind of thinking that leads to other countries adopting Shariah law, applicable to both believers and non-believers...

Laws should protect all, and should be fair to believers/non-believers of every stripe.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Sorry, tried to ignore it but I can't.

Here is the thing, free expression (this includes religion) does not end when you get elected.

If it does not end there, then why can't you bring it into Session Halls or write it into law?

What of the right of the religious to participate in shaping public morals?

What about the morality of laws? Who then gets to shape that?

What of your right to be free? Since that is, in part, also a by product of morals based on religion.

Thing is, your understanding of free expression and the concept of democracy is impaired, to say the least. Thus, I implore you to brush up on them.

did pacquiao really say LGBTs are "worse than animals"?

Uncut version of Pacquiao's same-*** marriage interview sparks debate

    Friday, February 19, 2016 10:23PM

    By JM SIASAT

An uncut version of Manny Pacquiao's views on same-*** marriage has emerged on social media and has gone viral, sparking a debate from netizens over whether his pronouncements were taken out of context.

Pacquiao, who is slated to figure in what would be his farewell bout against Timothy Bradley on April 9 (April 10 PHL time), is being hounded by criticisms around the globe for his remarks. He has since apologized for the comparison, but stood by his comments which were borne out of his beliefs from the Bible.

The uncut video began with Pacquiao saying he was expressing his beliefs as a Christian.

"As Christian bawal naman yung same-*** marriage.

"Pero I'm not condemning, I'm not condemning them -- yung [same-***] marriage lang. Yung committing sin against God."

(As a Christian same-*** marriage is prohibited. Women were made for men, men were made for women.

For me it's like this, it's common sense. Would you see any animals, male to male or female to female? Animals are better then, they can determine who's a boy and a girl. Now if we [allow] male to male and female to female then it's worse than animals. Even animals, males cannot be together.

But I'm not condemning, I'm not condemning them -- only [same-***] marriage and committing a sin against God.)

The video sparked debate, with some netizens feeling like the edit altered the weight of his remarks.

Wentor Aguirre Mendoza said: "So this was the whole interview of Manny. I guess we are all victims. Bat ngayon lang nila nilabas tong full interview na to at pinabayaan nilang kumalat yung na-cut na video ng interview at magkagulo ang mga tao? Even Manny, sa dami ng interviews nya di nya man lang nabanggit na putol yung lumabas na interview video nya."

Gerry Braganza added: "Obviously Manny was taken out of context. Stick to the issue 'christian point of view according to manny same *** marriage is not allowed' ganyan naba ka overreactive ang gusto ng same *** marriage? Per christian point of view karumaldumal yan (abominable). If the overreactive people were having a new religion then they should also respect the religion of Pacman. Put this controversy to rest, Pacman has already sought forgiveness. Forgive and forget.

Still, some netizens feel that the uncut video didn't change anything that Pacquiao said.

Shao Masula said: "Doesn't change the fact that he said 'mas masahol pa sa hayop' ang LGBTs. Kumabig lang kunyari. Hindi kinu-condemn but he called LGBTs worse than animals."

Mitch Ian added: "Guys, I am sorry. Still. Ganun pa din yung message. Yes, i understand na sacred ang same *** marriage meaning the ceremonial itself. Pero yun point dito is, LGBT as an animal. Hinaluntulad sa animal. The gestures and reactions guys. It is foul! Pls. Yun lng ang point. Lowest of the low."

Nicos Rebleza Garcia chimed in: "tinatanong ba sya as a christian or as a congressman? context din muna... kung tinatanong sya as a christian, well tama lang ung sagot nya pero kung as a congressman eh masasabi natin na mali nga talaga.. as a public servant and a law maker, your religious view should not affect your judgment towards civil issues like this."

Due to his remarks toward LGBTs, sports apparel giant Nike has recently severed its relationship with Pacquiao, to which the Filipino boxing icon answered by saying that he respects the brand's decision. —JST, GMA News

For me, it's ok that Pacquiao stands firm in his beliefs because that's what I believe too. But then, Pacquiao is running for senator. I don't want Philippine laws to be based on religious beliefs because our country is not a theocracy. Church and State should remain separated.

I am very very sorry but you are misinformed.

Sharia law, human relations, family law, penal laws (rape, murder, theft, etc), taxation, human dignity being innate in law, and the list goes on.

Finally, in a democratic soceity even if a law is based on religious beliefs it sheds its religious character once enacted.

ganyan talaga kapag religion na ang usapan. sa bandang huli nagiging kwentong barbero na ang kinalalabasan.

sa kinata ni Dr. Dre ( forgot the song title)
"We sit into the wee hours of the night
And we don't stop until the sunlight
We just keep going cause the die hard
won’t go down without a fight"
