One of the best interviews ever. Jordan Petersons questions and Yeonmis answers are immersive.

Had been watching almost everything about N. Korea before (as time permits), even before the pandemic. I have learned to be wary of some of these N. Korean dissidents and escapees also. Sometimes I feel they're prone to exaggerations probably to drive up their stock as information sources - or to increase their chances of getting amnesty.

My interests include old Russia na rin ( I have "Bald and Bankrupt" and "Real Russia" for that) or basically the old communist states. We have this book when we were kids about the dangers of communism. Natandaan ko may parang komiks pa rin nga about the bad of communism. As I grow older and having read and watched facts about these countries, I have realized just how much propaganda those materials of our youth contain.

Having said that, even how much I'm enamored about N. Korea, parang mahirap pa rin pumunta doon. One wrong move baka maging Otto Warmbier ka. I have been to China and Vietnam though. Much safer.

I prefer Jordan Peterson. His vocabulary is a tad better. his pronunciation is edgier.

i grew up with around the cold war/post cold war era. when i was a kid i remember being consistently bombarded with propaganda against communism via TV and movies. As you grow older, started exploring the world starting having friend from different countries, the views you have as a child would start to change.

I watched the netflix show "the Vietnam War" last year. it shows you that even the US government is full of propaganda and has tons of secrets and illegal schemes. Not everything in the communist country was bad as portrayed by the US.

As I have been saying in other threads, Hollywood is one big US propaganda machine. And they get paid for it pa.
