Heard it over the AM radio. The bus was full and is on the northbound side. One of the victims suffered severe leg injuries... may be amputated. Si VP Binay is on the scene while PNoy is busy playing with his Porsche.

Oh wow. I could imagine how heavy traffic will get later. Makati doesn't feel so safe anymore. I hope there were no casualties.

With the recent surge of crimes around the country, it's obvious that "President" Aquino is being underestimated and is an ineffective leader. That's what you get from an incompetent "President"!

2 dead, at least 17 hurt in bus blast on Edsa

MANILA, Philippines—(UPDATE 2) Two people died and at least 17 were injured when an explosion hit a passenger bus along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue corner Buendia Avenue Tuesday, the Makati Tactical Operations Center said.
The Newman Gold Liner bus, with plate number TXJ 710, exploded for still unknown reasons at the northbound lane of EDSA particularly near the Metro Rail Transit Buendia station, according to Ed Garcia, radio operator at the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) metrobase.
Police have deployed a bomb squad to the area as the affected portion has been closed off to traffic.
Motorists are advised to avoid the affected area as traffic is now heavy all the way to Magallanes.
Investigators were still looking into the cause of the blast.
No other details are available as of posting time.
