Most of the terrorists are fundamentalists(wahhabist/salafist), as in they're sticking to the expansionist roots of islam of the medieval period.
This is why they're referring to westerners as crusaders because they're doing what muslims are doing prior to the crusades and that is to conquer europe.

now an interesting observation na nakita was the presence of a third party force like the Vikings, the Huns etc. They were instrumental to the transition and unity of the two warring forces called in Christianity or Muslim if you want, but the third force is and will always be Pagan. aka the third wheel so to proceed the cleansing and renewal process.
seems that God designed it this way, so that we won't have absolute power.
