Para sure na matalo si MR. As per election history of incumbents, only Cory's endorsement of Ramos won while all the rest lost. Dumb Panot will not be an exemption despite na kung ano-anong approval rating he may have. Sana si Negro na lang inendorse ni Panot.

nope. bawal lang sa career government rank and file. elected official si pnoy, all is fair game.

pero wa epek endorsement nya. the yolanda relief mismanagement was a big disaster for MR. ask anyone from samar and leyte ayaw nila kay MR. kahit nga taga ilo-ilo mismo ayaw sa kanya. when he placed politics as priority when he was in tacloban dun siya inayawan ng tao. tumba na si romualdez for his inaction before the typhoon struck pero imbes na sana naging "hero" si MR he came with teeth seething against romualdez. naging bida pa tuloy si romualdez at siya lumabas na contrabida.

It's a close fight indeed. So we all have to do our part to promote our own candidates positively.

I didn't know it is part of the President's job description, considering the guy uses taxpayer's money when he travels around campaigning...

Palace: Part of Noy’s duty to campaign for Mar

    Philippine Star
    By Delon Porcalla
    Philippine Star
    March 7, 2016

Campaigning hard for the administration party’s standard-bearer Manuel Roxas II is an indispensable part of the mandate, functions and “duty” of President Aquino as the country’s Chief Executive, a Palace spokesman insisted yesterday.

“President Aquino is actively campaigning for the candidates of the Daang Matuwid Coalition because he believes it is his duty to our Bosses – the Filipino people – to ensure the continuity of good governance,” Press Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. asserted.

Coloma issued the statement following calls by Sen. Francis Escudero – who is running for vice president in the May 9 polls – for Aquino to focus on governance rather than politics.

In holding presidential-events-cum-campaign-sorties in provinces, Coloma said Aquino wanted to “ensure continuity of the good governance” he initiated.

He said this is “essential to the attainment of inclusive growth for future generations of Filipinos.”

“He is also determined to ensure the conduct of fair and credible election by respecting the independence of the Commission on Elections,” Coloma explained further.

While Roxas is no longer a member of the Cabinet, observers noted government resources have been utilized in his campaign, notably the use of government vehicles in local government units for the benefit of the ruling Liberal Party.

Coloma nevertheless assured the public that Aquino himself wants clean, credible and peaceful elections just like everybody else, and that he simply wants to guide and remind the electorate that the best team is that of Roxas and his running mate Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo.

Since the start of campaign period on Feb. 8, Aquino has been actively engaging in negative campaigning by speaking ill of Roxas’ fiercest rival Vice President Jejomar Binay, his running mate Sen. Gregorio Honasan and Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Aquino – the Liberal Party’s chairman – never stopped badmouthing Binay with whom he had a falling out in June 2015.

Even with Honasan, who was behind the series of coup attempts in the administration of his mother Corazon, and the son and namesake of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos.

    Confidence

Malacañang firmly believes that Roxas will definitely emerge as winner in the May 9 elections against his rivals who have nothing to offer the country but rhetoric and empty promises.

“The survey shows the race is tightening. The posturing is wearing thin as reality is catching up with those increasingly unable to withstand scrutiny,” presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said, citing the latest Pulse Asia’s Feb. 15-20 survey.

The survey showed Roxas being statistically tied with Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

Air Force: 34 acquired aircraft since 214 | Inquirer News

Air Force: 34 acquired aircraft since 2014
    By: Frances Mangosing
    INQUIRER.net 06:22 PM March 8th, 2016

The Philippine Air Force has acquired 34 aircraft—new and old—in the past two years, a 100 percent increase of their operational air assets.

Outgoing Air Force chief Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Delgado said that this was their “biggest haul.”

When he assumed office in April 2014, there were only about 40 aircraft in the Air Force inventory. As he retires on Wednesday, he will leave the service with almost 90 air assets.

He did not fully credit the big acquisitions to his leadership as Air Force chief, however.

“We have been working on this since the president assumed office in 2010, and we continued the pursuit of this. It just so happened that most of the items programmed have arrived on my time,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

During his command, he saw the delivery of brand new Agusta 109 helicopters, Bell 412 choppers, C295 transport planes, refurbished UH-1D choppers, and the biggest upgrade of all, the FA-50 fighter jets.

They were also able to recover 13 aircraft from the existing fleet under his watch. Another eight aircraft are in the process of being recovered, he said.

    ‘I’ve waited 20 years’

Delgado said the delivery of the first two of 12 FA-50s last November was his best day as Air Force chief.

“I’ve waited 20 years. In 1995, we’re working on that. I was already at the AFP modernization office, planning for that. So after 20 years, naluluha rin kami eh. Twenty years is a long time. In 1995, we were envisioning the replacement for the F-5,” he said.

The squadron of FA-50s is the biggest military capability upgrade at P18.9 billion. The rest of the jets are expected to be delivered in batches until 2017.

A seasoned combat pilot, Delgado was a survivor of two chopper crashes in 1989 and 1990. When he was a captain, the T-28, known as “tora-tora,” that he was maneuvering crashed over Manila Bay in 1989.

“It was a practice flight. Doon ko lang nakita malumot pala sa ilalim ng Manila Bay. Naawa ako sa sarili ko so lumangoy ako pataas,” he recalled with a laugh.

His co-pilot turned out to be looking for him at sea. They saw a fisherman who gave them a ride on his boat.

In 1990, the same type of plane he was flying crashed at Sangley Airport.

Delgado, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1982, will bow down from service to where he started out his career — Fernando Air Base in Lipa, Batangas.

He said it was his “personal choice” to retire a few days ahead of his March 20 retirement to allow President Benigno Aquino III to name his replacement before the election ban on appointments.

Delgado piloted his last flight two weeks ago using a T-41 plane, an aircraft similar to a Cessna.

“They gave me a champagne flight. I chose the T-41 because it is the aircraft that I first flew in the Air Force. I wanted it to be the last aircraft I will be flying,” he said.

Delgado will turn over the 20,000 strong Air Force to Lt. Gen. Edgar Fallorina, the deputy chief of staff of the armed forces.

100% increase in air assets, but still, ZERO capability for credible territorial air defense.

There's no telling that the acquisition binge of the AFP for more modern equipment will continue in the next administration.

By way of comparison, in the early days of nationhood of Israel where they were threatened by surrounding islamic nations, they acquired Vietnam-era A4 Skyhawks and old Mirage F1 airframes so they'd have some way of defending their territory, apart from their army.

China is appropriating our sea territory in piecemeal basis and we're still reduced to relying on the US for excess defense articles instead of heavily investing in more materiel. We supposedly have defense agreements with Italy and Japan wherein they'd supply us with more modern equipment...but still...we're getting them like droplets of water in a huge bucket called territorial defense gap.

There ought to be a law which gives a different (if not fast-tracked and administration change-proofed) acquisition process for the AFP considering the clear and present danger posed by China. I mean, intently pursuing our case against China at the Hague is fine...but you can't ignore the bully at your door whilst waiting for a judge to give you a favorable ruling on your trespassing case.

Breakfast bonding with my favorite pamangkin brought up the conversation of upcoming presidential elections. Did not realize until now that today's 10-year old kids are politically savvy.

Eh noon, at that age, di rumeregister ang mga politiko sa utak ko. Iba ang pinagkakaabalahan ko sa edad na yon. Guess the return of democracy and our freedom in 1986 has something to do with it.

To my surprise he divulged to me that most of his classmates were, if allowed, going to vote for Mar, including him. 1 or 2 for Poe. Another 1 or 2 for Binay, and another 1 or 2 for D30. What can I say? Go Go Go Mar, malakas pala appeal mo sa mga kabataan. ;)

Question about Mar Roxas. Will he be quiet like Pnoy with matters of Crime, Poverty, Yolanda donations, Education, LTO fiasco. Metro Manila traffic. SSS Philhealth. Kotong Cops. Tax reforms. Customs fiasco.

I would like to hear what mar will say or what he had said about these national matters. Obviously pnoy is busy with some girls in a resort..

Mar will just give a graceful exit for Panot pag manalo siya. Dito sa amin iilan lang ang pro Mar. And obviously Daang Matuwid lang ang bukambibig niya

I also believe it will be between MAR and POE. Binay is going down due to corruption charges and the AMLA reports. Duterte's support is also dwindling. So bahala na ang taong bayan.

Sana nga ROXAS at POE. Kaso machinery kasi ni Binay formidable pa din kaya I am afraid MR vs Binay yan in the end especially if March 25 onwards na. Dyan na malalaman persuasive power and influence of local candidates supporting their bets.
