That's a definite.

Mar doesn't have to hire spammers to vote for him. He has a lot of supporters among intellectuals and liberals and in the A and B class. The so-called "Yellow Army" is less an army and more a bunch of liberal intellectuals and common people who either choose to turn a blind eye to the issues and scandals surrounding Cory and Noy, or who feel that these are a small price to pay for stability, whether it be illusory or real.

Facebook, on the other hand, has a large number of rabidly pro-Duterte stalwarts. And a bewildering number of neo-Loyalist Marcos advocates (young people who don't really understand what Martial Law was about) who will naturally gravitate towards a strong dictatorial type of leader. So the numbers there are also skewed.

As much as we like to go pish-posh on "man on the street" surveys, random surveys are more accurate than targeted site surveys by a large margin.

As an aside... I still don't see the "legions of paid pro-Mar trolls" everyone is talking about. And I actually READ commentary on newsites... which seem populated mostly by rabidly pro-Duterte commenters. No, I'm not saying they're paid, just rabid. ...Marcos boosters, on the other hand, seem to have some serious backing.

In the end, though... Mar only has an outside shot of winning. He's just never, ever been popular enough to catch the big votes. His epal game is substandard compared to Binay's, and he doesn't have the personality of Duterte. Lose-lose situation. The admin should have been hyping him up for the past three to four years if he were ever to have stood a chance.
