Militant groups, Metro Moros clash in Mendiola

MANILA, Philippines–Troops of National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) and several Muslim groups clashed in an ongoing protest Thursday along Mendiola bridge in Manila.

A radio report said the scuffle took place when members of the NDFP, a leftist group, arrived in Mendiola, where Muslim groups have been staging their programs in celebration of the scheduled signing of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro.

Civil Disturbance Management companies have already responded for crowd control while Manila Police District personnel are still on standby in the area.

As of posting, the minor riot has been contained.

Later Thursday, the CAB will be inked by the Malacanang and leaders of Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
Expected to attend the signing are 589 MILF members, foreign diplomats, and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak.
