You mean that's the actual cash? Ganyan kalulutong? Ganyan ka-ayos nakita? Ganyan karami? Paano binitbit yan ng mga rebels? Very peculiar.

Sabi nga sa TV, 80M pa yan, and the AFP turned it over to authorities the way they found it.

Yes, yung mga cheque, I'm sure signatory niyan eh si Delima, if wigman will have his way. Or maybe this time, si Trillanes naman ang signatory.

if they were planning to establish a state (they're called Islamic State anyway) in Marawi they'll need money to pay salaries

syempre mga sundalo nila may bayad yan

di naman siguro working for free mga yan

pambili pa ng armas at bala

pambili ng diesel para sa sasakyan nila

    pambili ng pagkain

Tama. A former professor of mine who worked with a former president and has extensive consultancy experience on conflicts in Mindanao said that rebel soldiers of MILF and MNLF are there for the money. It is a livelihood. Given them real jobs and they probably wont join these groups.

that's also how isis attracted foreign fighters

other than ideology, isis leadership promised fighters good pay

    and a wife

i think it's not easy for poor Muslim men to get a wife

kaya Muslim countries have large populations of young men with lots of pent up ***ual tension

resulting in a large number of angry violent young men

isis promising fighters a wife is really effective in attracting fighters

So they are carrying 50 millon in cash as if it were loose change while they go around town waging a war with the Phil. military?

As if all those war materiel (bullets, rifles, rpg, knives, communication equipment, etc.) are not heavy enough, they have to lug around this large amount of cash.

I'm sure whoever their treasurer is would have ran away with the money the first chance he got.

Maute group could have been in marawi for months already

it's not like they just went into marawi recently to protect Hapilon

they have been planning to take over the city

syempre nag stockpile na sila ng ammo, weapons etc

alam naman nila syempre makikipag laban sila sa gobyerno

which explains why they can't seem to run out of bullets kahit ilan araw na sila nakikipaglaban sa govt forces

    --

all that ammo and guns (maybe even cash) could have been brought in over a period of weeks or months

    not all in 1 trip

pwede rin they raided a bank there

All along I thought the reason Maute Group sieged Marawi was to create a diversion as the Phil. Military was closing in on them, going after their leader, Isnilon Hapilon.

there were already in marawi planning a take over

govt forces went in to get Hapilon which moved forward their plan to take over marawi

it wasnt time yet but they were forced to go ahead with the plan when govt troops went in

So Maute group was in Marawi, planning a takeover.

Military went in and surprised the Maute group.

Real purpose of the military was just to capture Hapilon, not to pre-empt a Marawi takeover by the Maute group.

Military/ gov't had no idea of takeover?

So that explains why all key cabinet officials were in Russia with their overlord?

In short they were both taken by surprise.

Military was surprised Maute was planning takeover.

Maute was surprised the Military was knocking on their door, wanting to neutralize Hapilon.

    Failure of intelligence again?

How much intel fund do they have anyway?

    ISIS accreditation... That's funny.

Kahit sino can pledge allegiance to ISIS. Even a loner can pledge allegiance to ISIS, drive his car and ram pedestrian with it and whala! Terrorist na sya.
