just like the high ranking public officials; keep the poor unable to afford education so they can stay in power. the fundamentalists tries to brainwash their people that westernization is evil so they have a handle of the uneducated and that they can brainwash them very easily. BRAVO!!! Malala. you deserve the Nobel Prize. she earned it more than barry obama who received one for who knows what

the religious extremists of the world still view women as property

that women should not have the same rights as men

no right to education, no right to vote, no right to drive, no right to choose who to marry

that women should be all covered up

That's the easy part, before you know it they're already in the populated area about to blow themselves up.

And the reward? Heaven full of virgins.

'Westernised' girl killed by Muslim father | Mail Online

A Muslim teenage girl murdered in an "honour killing" was the victim of a clash of cultures, police said today.

Strict Kurdish Muslim Abdalla Yones cut the throat of his 16-year-old daughter Heshu because he believed she had become too westernised.

He was jailed for life today after admitting the murder of A-level student Heshu, who had planned to run away from home after starting a relationship with an 18-year-old Lebanese Christian boy.

Police said she appeared to have been the victim of serious domestic violence before the murder.

And they revealed a letter which Heshu wrote to her parents, apparently just days before she planned to run away.

It read: "Bye Dad, sorry I was so much trouble. "Me and you will probably never understand each other, but I'm sorry I wasn't what you wanted, but there's some things you can't change.

"Hey, for an older man you have a good strong punch and kick.

"I hope you enjoyed testing your strength on me, it was fun being on the receiving end. Well done."

Yones, 48, a political refugee who had fled the brutality of Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq 10 years ago, was the first person to plead guilty to murder in a so-called honour killing case.

Police believe there were 12 such killings in Britain last year, including six in London, and have vowed to investigate other members of the community who may have colluded to help cover up the death.

Pakistani woman killed in Italy over arranged marriage - Telegraph

A Pakistani woman has died in Italy after her husband beat her with a brick for opposing the arranged marriage of her daughter, triggering a wave of outrage among Italian politicians on Monday.

The daughter, 20-year-old Nosheen Butt, was admitted to hospital with a cranial traumatism and a broken arm after her 19-year-old brother beat her with a stick in the courtyard of their building in Novi, near the north Italy city of Modena.

According to Modena prosecutors' initial findings, the father Ahmad Khan Butt, a 53-year-old construction worker, threw his wife to the ground and beat her with a brick while the brother Umair attacked his sister.

"The victim did not want her daughter to have an unhappy relationship like the one that had been forced on her," said deputy Modena prosecutor Lucia Musti, who is in charge of the investigation.

"The mother and the daughter were on the same side and this could be called a 'cultural' homicide because in addition to domestic violence there is the issue of the traditions that may have motivated the crime," Ms Musti said.

The family's three other children have been taken in by Italian social services.

Honor killing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An honor killing, or honour killing[1] is the homicide of a member of a family or social group by other members, due to the belief of the perpetrators that the victim has brought dishonor upon the family or community. Honor killings are directed mostly against women and girls and are most prevalent in Middle Eastern and South Asian Islamic cultures.

The perceived dishonor is normally the result of one of the following behaviors, or the suspicion of such behaviors: dressing in a manner unacceptable to the family or community, wanting to terminate or prevent an arranged marriage or desiring to marry by own choice, especially if to a member of a social group deemed inappropriate, engaging in hetero***ual acts outside marriage and engaging in homo***ual acts.

Many women's groups in the Middle East and Southwest Asia suspect that more than 20,000 women are honor killed each year.[2]
