Madoff gets 150 years for fraud

Earlier, Madoff sat and listened as victims of the scheme spoke of their losses and called for harsh punishment.

The nine victims who addressed the hearing included Carla and Stanley Hirschhorn, who said the loss of their life savings is "a living nightmare that we can't wake up from."

"He stole from the rich. He stole from the poor. He stole from the in between. He had no values," said another victim, Tom Fitzmaurice, in court. "He cheated his victims out of their money so he and his wife Ruth could live a life of luxury beyond belief."

In an imaginary perfect world, the same fate awaits our politicians.

Doesn't matter he is already 70++ years old. 50 years or 150 years he will die in prison and deserve it. Now the real problem is where is the money so at least may maisauli maskin konti sa victims. That is the challenge!

What a boring sentence. They should have skinned and/or cremated him alive (with videos and pics!).

This guy, including his victims, deserve everything that has happened to them. That's what you get for being so greedy. Mahilig kasi sa easy money.

Actually Madoff created reasonable returns. Mga 12% per annum which is reasonable. The only questionable fact is how did he make 12% consistently year in and year out even in bad markets? He was a brilliant scam artist! While other ponzi schemers promise ridiculous returns like double your money kay Madoff realistic and that is why for over 20 years the ponzi scheme continued to run and run. In fact kung walang credit crisis, the ponzi scheme would still be alive and Madoff would still be a free man as if nothing happened. Its because of the credit crisis the clients started to pull out money all at the same time that unravelled the ponzi scheme... Most of his victims were actually innocent and thought everything was legit. Buti pa si Madoff scam artist pero magaling, di katulad mga scammers sa Pilipinas puro na lang cellphone # picked as raffle winner, pero wala ka naman sinalihan.
