    It was Mrs. Arroyo's legal spokesperson Atty Raul Lambino who gave media an update on her condition during a press conference last Saturday.

    "The former president is in critical condition," Lambino had told TV and print media. "Pag hindi nag-react yung body nya sa antibiotics na dinadaan na po sa intravenous--hindi na po injectible na antibiotics ang pinapagamit sa kanya, dinadaan na po sa intravenus--para ma-relieve sya at maayos agad ang infection. Kasi sabi ng mga duktor kapag hindi naayos at lumala ang impeksyon, maaaring umabot sa utak, magkaroon ng meningitis at complete paralysis or umabot sa puso at magkakaroon sya ng stroke."

    The following day, Lambino denied he was the source of the information.

    "Rumors are circulating in text messages and some media reports such as that she's in very critical condition," part of Lambino's statement read.

    "Worse, some have irresponsibly attributed these statements as emanating from me, which I heretofore categorically deny saying them."

    Lambino went as far as blaming government for the rumors spreading.

    Hahahah. Like client, like lawyer. Kapal talaga ng abogagong ito. Manang-mana sa kliyente niya. Who can forget, "I am not running" and "I am sorry"? In Lambino's case, the term "lawyer" should be changed to "liar". So who was that on the news video? Si Jose Pidal?

    Inannounce na naman ni publicity-hungry De Lima na iniimbestiga base on a rumour na may asylum papers si GMA. The publicity-seeker earlier said in another press conference that a person can only seek asylum if she/he is in the host country itself. Hmmm....


    We have it on unimpeachable authority that Hans Dannenberg, ambassador of the Dominican Republic to India, personally delivered to Mrs. Gloria Arroyo asylum papers on Oct. 25, 2011.

    FORMER President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is reportedly trying to evade prosecution from high crimes by fleeing to Dominican Republic, a developing country in Central America which honored her economic expertise last May.

    But Justice Secretary Leila De Lima declined to confirm the unverified report, which came out after the government recently denied Arroyo’s request to seek medical treatment abroad for her bone mineral disorder and hypoparathyroidism.

    "I received a text message on that but I don't where that information is coming from. Still, we are verifying that information and other information that are coming in. It is something that we cannot ignore but also we could not announce further without verification," she told reporters.

    A newspaper column on Wednesday said Hans Dannenberg, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to India, personally delivered asylum papers to the former president on October 25.

    The Philippine has no extradition treaty with the Dominican Republic.

    De Lima said they will seek confirmation from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) but this early, an official of the agency could not claim veracity on the matter.

    “Sorry, I don’t have any information on this,” DFA spokesperson Raul Hernandez told Sun.Star.

    As a compromise, PNoy is willing to fly-in specialist thru gov't expense just to keep GMA here. It's a "happy compromise" daw.
