Let the real businessmen run the corporate world....not the polticians.. I believe the gokongwei will transform petron into a notch higher oil company. ....they want petron because of their cebu pacific planes who consumes jet fuel. it is a win win situation for the government and jg summit...hope they can sell low cost fuel like their low cost airline.

It will be definitely good for the country as a whole because a very professional Filipino conglomerate will buy a leading oil and petrochemical company...

There will be synergy with the entry of JGSummit into Petron.

JGSummit through its JGSummit Petrochemical Corp.-the only integrated petrochemical company operating in a very lucrative resin and plastic industry in the country-will tremendously benefit especially with the recent opening of Petron's PetroFCC and Propylene Recovery Unit (PRU) plants because the products of these plants will supply the raw material requirements of JGSummit....

For instance, JGSummit owns C2 brand and Nestle Mineral water...these products needs plastics or PET bottles, raw materials come from these petrochemical plants. So costs will be reduced if requirements come from JGSummit's other firms....

Malaki kita sa petrochemical plus the no.1 position of Petron in the oil industry (40%) with the biggest and most modern refinery in the country (an advantage because imported refined oil products are more expensive), solve problem nila sa oil price fluctuation at makikinabang ang Cebu-Pacific airline......

Sana Bilhin na ng Gokongwei hindi lang yung government stake pati na yung sa Aramco-Ashmore....

For the purpose of discussion, won't there by any ill effects with the government losing control of its Petron stake?
