CNS means the rules don't apply to UV Express. They counter flow, overtake on sidewalks, swerve into your lane, run red lights, etc. Reminds me of ambulances
di naman, i encoutered uv express sa sucat, and pasay... mas maayos naman sila compared sa iba kase may body ng van sila iniingatan, compared sa jeepney na nothing to lose...
sumasakay din ako ng UV express minsan, better drivers than jeepneys kase nga may value yong body ng sasakyan... pero counterflow pa din pag may time...
alam ko galit ang jeepneys sa uv express kase syempre nawawalan kahit papano ng pasahero ang jeep kase some people are willing to pay for the convenience. may mga sumasakay nga ng UV express that is willing to pay two seats para lang wala tumabi sa kanya...

Tingnan natin kung mag-UV express pa sila if doble sahod na sila as promised by du30
May jeepney strike nanaman pala sa Lunes, kontra sila sa planong phase out for old jeepneys.

Wala eh katapusan ng politiko ang magtutulak neto.
Ano ba proposed standard for the jeepneys?
Diba kahit brand new ang jeep, luma na din yan since their engines are old? Surplus/refurbished?
Or meron brand new even the engines are brand spanking new?

at the very least, for obvious safety, the ingress and egress has been moved to the side.
the engine requirement is easy, because it has not been moved. it just takes an imperial edict to dictate how new it should be.
they already had some working prototypes made, a few years ago.
namatay yata sa lack of political interest.
I think it will not happen in our lifetime, unless there is real political will.
Immortalized in a popular song pa, and tied to the image of Manila... Remember, people in other countries know Manila, but not so much the Philippines....
"Hinahanap-hanap kita Manila; Ang ingay mong kaysarap sa tainga; Mga jeepney mong nagliliparan; Mga babae mong naggagandahan; Take me back in your arms Manila; And promised me you'll never let (me) go .... "
Just my observations why the existing jeepney has to be phased out:
- rear entry unsafe. Needs the door to be moved to the right side of the vehicle for passenger safety.
- existing jeepney body on chassis design too heavy and also uncomfortable. Newer design can have a lighter vehicle with more comfortable seating and better headroom too. Lighter vehicle improves fuel economy.
- Current jeepney have zero road safety. They are rolling coffins.
- Jeepney routes tend to be inefficient. Mini buses can service the same routes with less vehicle count resulting in less congestion.
Replace current jeepney units and regulate drivers = less traffic, accidents and polution
PAJ 4M40 MORE POWER!
May jeepney strike ulit bukas...
