China's unending supply but questionable quality vs Japan's handful but western/US supplied (perceived quality and proven track record in the middle east).

How bout the quality of troops and personnel. China's mass of human beings vs Japan's........damn what do they have? aside from the Voltes Team.

How bout the quality of troops and personnel. China's mass of human beings vs Japan's........damn what do they have? aside from the Voltes Team.

Japan has a decent sized Navy, and a good Air Force. China has the numerical edge, but the Japanese have better equipment and nearly just as many large combat ships.

China has the advantage of having one aircraft carrier, to allow sorties to launch closer to Japan. But that's just one carrier. One leaky old Russian carrier.

China has the numerical advantage in fighters and bombers, but not if you only count their more modern fighters. It will be interesting to see Su-27s mix it up with F15s and Mitsubishi F2s...

Of course... if China does decide to pick a straight-up fight with Japan, the US will definitely step in. The US is already making moves to hem in China as it tries to bully all its neighbors while trying to lock down strategic gas reserves. And the Chinese Navy and Air Force are simply no match for the US.

No one is going to side with China. Maybe Russia would lend some tactical support, but I doubt it'd be in Putin's interest to meddle in a small territorial dispute. Everyone else in the region is against the belligerent Beijing government. NoKor will have no interest in getting involved, either.
