Ano na ba ang nagawa ni Noynoy? I mean solid achievements?

Exclude the fact he is the son of Ninoy and Cory. What has he done that we can look forward to when he becomes president?

And what can he offer? Sana huwag puro "malinis" or "hindi trapo" stuff ang sabihin. Solid plans and platform. Huwag puro castles in the air.

To date I will not vote for him. Let him give people a better reason than just being an "Aquino" or a perceived "honest" man. Lame duck pa dating niya.

Nobody, I mean, nobody in next year's election will get my paltry vote. No one deserves it yet.

The problem with this country is not just amnesia. It's indifference. That's why we have the kinds of politicians we have.

you say the problem is indifference and then you say you won't vote if no one deserves it .. doesn't that mean you're part of the problem? .. because i don't think that's any solution ...

Noynoy may not have achieved GLORIOUS and MAGNIFICENT things that were worthy of your time for you to notice them. but who does (in this time) anyway? can you name names? then if not noynoy, who is it that you want to be the president? and if you're not gonna vote, don't you think it's what you call "INDIFFERENCE"? and that's exactly the problem you were talking about that's why we have these kinds of politicians today?

to those pulling down noynoy, if not noynoy, then who is it that you want to be the next president? there has to be someone coz whether or not you're gonna vote, there'll be a next president after the election.

Mike Velarde was a convicted SWINDLER (ESTAFADOR). So, I don't really think he's that clean. His followers are idiots.

I'd rather have Villanueva who got imprisoned for being an activist.

I don't remember Noynoy getting imprisoned for anything though.

that's the problem. they keep on criticizing noynoy, but they can't even name a name who should be the next president. ano 'to, wala na lang tayong presidente?

kung hindi siya, sino? oh come on. you should come up with even just 1 name.

Noynoy is sounding too vindictive in his statements to the media lately. He's dealing with issues from the past (i.e. Marcos wealth) so I'm not sure how he'll manage the country's future. He's sounding like he's from the old-school politics. In terms of governance and passage of laws, he wasn't able to sponsor anything major. But given that the issue of corruption is the stone always cast upon the current admin and his "corruption-level" is way below the other candidates, he's going to be a strong contender. I think voters will just pick him because they are tired of hearing about the corruption of the president, her family and her govt. As for me, I'd give Noynoy a 2nd thought.

Yeah his announcements regarding the marcos wealth is an overused issue.

He could've used the Marcos charm and their machinery. He doesn't even know if FM did have his father killed. Dapat nakipag-reconcile sya.

This dude should learn the science of Politics. Perhaps, it's better for him to shut up now and study his words first.

Making enemies this early is not really a good idea. Malayo pa elections.

I can't think of anyone to be the next president. Simple as that. So anong problema? Bawal ba? Karapatan ko iyun eh, correct? Kung gusto niyong iboto si Noynoy then by all means do so. I never said that people shouldn't vote for him. I just said I wouldn't. At this point, I don't care who the next president is. Pagod na ako. Kung ano man ang mangyari sa Pinas eh I leave it to God na lang. I have better things to think of. Like my family. My health. Apolitical na ako at this point in my life.

Anyway, good luck na lang sa sa inyo at sa Pilipinas.

Noynoy needs to have the energy and fighting spirit of Ninoy.

Ninoy was in still in prison and wasn't allowed to campaign outside when he ran for the Batasang Pambansa 1978 elections. His fiery style can be seen here in his interview in "Face the Nation".

Well dapat ayusin muna ni Noynoy yung massacre sa Luisita. naalala ko na very pro-gma si Cory noon but, nung pinaboran ni GMA ang mga farmers ay naging Gloria resign si Cory and family.

    ---

party-list lawmaker urged Senator Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III on Wednesday to show he could govern by scrapping an ultimatum set against farmers and farmworkers tilling more than 2,000-hectares of the lands inside his family’s Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac.

Anakpawis party-list Representative Rafael Mariano said Hacienda Luisita is a “baptism of fire"for the 49-year-old Aquino, who declared his bid for the presidency early Wednesday.

“We challenge him to act on the plight of Luisita farmers and farm workers and scrap the October 30, 2009 ultimatum set by the Luisita management," Mariano said in a press statement.

Aquino and the Liberal Party must “seriously consider the just and legitimate demands of Luisita farmers to own the land to prove that they are truly for genuine reforms and social change," he said.

“Change must start from the emancipation of the poor, especially for farmers who have long been calling for genuine land reform," Mariano added.

Hacienda Luisita and other big landholdings were spared from actual land distribution to farmers under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) that was enacted during the presidency of Noynoy’s mother, the late Corazon Cojuangco Aquino.

Instead of actual land distribution, the Cojuangcos allotted shares to farmers in the company through the stock distribution option (SDO).

Several years ago, the Department ofAgrarian Reform (DAR) finally gathered the resolve to scrap the stock option program and ordered the distribution of the hacienda lands to farmers.

The Supreme Court, however, stopped the DAR from distributing the lands.

In response, United Luisita Workers’ Union (Ulwu) members started cultivating some 2,000 hectares of the more than 6,000 hectares in the estate to grow food crops for their families.

But in a memorandum dated Dec. 18, 2008, Hernan Gregorio Jr., assistant estate manager of Hacienda Luisita, Inc., gave the farmers until Oct.30 ,2009, to “discontinue and desist from using, cultivating, planting or possessing said parcel/s of land."

“Unfortunately, the Cojuangcos doesn’t want to let go off the lands. Farmers are now being prevented from cultivating the Hacienda using an illegal scrap of paper," Mariano said.

“The Cojuangcos have no legal, political and moral right to use the Hacienda Luisita management’s illegal memorandum to prevent farm workers from continuously cultivating and developing the Luisita lands," he said.

According to Mariano, based on the tally of the Unyon ng mga Manggagawa sa Agrikultura, the tillage campaign has benefited 838 families or 1,676 people in the villages of Mapalacsiao (244.5 ha), Asturias (209.93 ha), Bantog (258 ha), Cut-Cut (275.9 ha), Balite (153.4 ha), Mutrico (248 ha), Pando (163 ha), Texas (140 ha), Pasajes (60 ha) and Parang (51.5 ha).

Mariano, who also chairs the peasant group Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), said that “after the onerous and one-sided stock distribution option (SDO) scheme was cancelled by the DAR, the farmers and farm workers who have been denied by the Cojuangcos for decades of their right to own the lands are now the true owners of the lands."

Mariano said Noynoy Aquino can correct the wrongs committed by the Hacienda Luisita management.

He reminded the senator that seven farm workers were massacred at the Hacienda when they pressed their claim to the land in 2004.

It was the massacre the spurred the DAR to cancel the SSDO scheme and order the distribution of Hacienda Luisita to farmer-beneficiaries in 2005. The Cojuangcos, however, appealed the decision to the Supreme Court. - GMANews.TV
