Siguro lagyan na rin ng age limit ang mga voters. Lets say from 20 to 60 years old only lang ang mga voters. Di dapat pwede yun 18 years old ka na eh pwede ka na maging botante.

She probably does. Malakas pa kasi Lola ko and she still handles her finances. Makati does have good benefits for seniors but we never voted for Binay. What they give the local taxpayers are crumbs compared to their kurakot.

Majority of our population are not intelligent voters and I don't know how can that be fixed. Probably not in my lifetime. Yung candidates sana naman maayos.

Yung intelligent voters kasi ay subjective yan... one maybe intelligent but sometimes he doesn't have the choice because of his association with an unwanted candidate. Additionally, meron din pamilya ang mga yan as intelligent as they are but they vote for the same reason.
Kaya kung minsan maganda rin siguro yung style ng US na electoral votes ang basehan at hindi yung popular votes.

Probably I'll start first with peace and order, infrastructure project - a super highway from luzon to mindanao + train system modernization, power rates must go down, modernize the military and finding more investors in the oil ang gas sector.
Decongest manila by bringing more businesses to other regions.
Tama kayo... ang hirap pala lalo na pag ang reserve natin ay limited to start with.

If i were prez, i'd dismantle this dysfunctional national govt and return power to the lgu's, probably at the regional level. I'd model it after the ancient Greek city-states, then let it prosper from there. Only the revival of statesmanship at the ground level can undo the disparity, and greed, we are now witnessing.

    Power to the people!

except the greek city states don't really have "rule of law". democracy itself became their downfall.
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

The cradle of western civilization, democracy , philosophy, theater and probably where the greatest general and conqueror in ancient history was born, did not have rule of law?

My friend, what history book are you reading?

the problem with Athenian democracy is that it is essentially Mob rule that has no limit. In other words, the Mob is the law. They can wage war if the mob pleases. Heck, they even executed Socrates just because it pleased the mob. You can have a welfare state. It's good and all but in the end, they found out that it cost them money. The state then either clips their coin to remelt as devalued currency, or they just add more copper to debase it further. You can refer to The Republic if you want a more first hand account.

You really think federal form will work here in the Philippines? Ngayon pa nga lang eh kontrolado na ng pamilya ang karamihan ng municipality.

Mga Binay pa lang o, dyusme.
Political dynaties have monopoly of violence because they don't fear the people. It has nothing to do with being federal or not. It has evrything to do with arming civilians as a natural right.

And all we need to fear are the people.

imho, "arming the people" can only be justified if there is clear and imminent danger -- e.g. British invasion during the War of Independence, Stanlingrad in 1940, or maybe even a zombie outbreak.

Arming the people will only work when majority of the people are educated, decent, level-headed. Here in PH, people kill each other out of suspicion of being aswangs, or singing My Way out of tune, stealing a parking space, being in the right way of a one way street, etc. etc.

i know political dynasties, political armies, etc suck, but anarchy is a lot lot worse.

In any case, it's not like our police can enforce this. But i've long believed that the reason why we don't have any shootings like what happened in the US the past few years is that people are too poor to buy guns.

ermm... do you even know the murder rate in the "Wild Wild West"? 0.6 per year at its peak in the "most dangerous area" such as Dodge City and Witchita. So, not really a good comparison :P

Uhm... I'm pretty sure you're the one who brought Wild Wild West into this topic. I'm just showing that your preconceived notions on gun ownership is based on hollywood. You compared it to wild wild west, yet I just debunked your comparison as myth because their murder rate is extremely low even if almost everyone is armed. Just because citizens are armed doesn't mean they will automatically become psychopaths mowing down people with bullets whenever they please. What you're worrying about are the minority of people who are mentally disturbed. In fact, 4% of society are born psychopaths. Regardless of whether they have guns or not, they will find ways to do their evil deeds, whether they are in a political dynasty or just a street thug in the street. Well, what about the other 96% who aren't born psychopaths? Don't they have the right to defend themselves?

I will amend the constitution immediately with special focus on requiring all government agency workers including all the politicians to take psychological and IQ (must be above average) evaluation before they assume their respective positions. I've had enough of stupid people in the government.
