March 1st, 2009 12:21 AM #1Am sure many have their opinions on this but I was once in a conversation with some higher ranking American special forces people assigned in the South. Unfortunately they would rather remain anonymous. However, they said that they could easily wipe out the Abu Sayaf with the advancements in technology and all. They said they can pinpoint when they are pissing due to satellite tech and all. Now the question was if that is the case why don't they just wipe them out coz they can. They claimed that their government like other governments need to keep the "war" ongoing. They also said it was the same for drug cartels in South America to a degree. The "war" helps them justify the need for more armaments and kickbacks and more.
Would this be plausible?

March 1st, 2009 01:32 AM #3same thing as bakit hanggang ngaun hindi pa totally na-eradicate ang traffic. some big time operators with former military backgrounds own bus lines to keep traffic to its worst. kung hindi nga naimbento ang u-turn scheme, ang laki ng pera sa mga stoplight intersections. from peddling sidewalk vendors to puv terminals.
if naging productive nga naman lahat ng pinoy, they can afford cars 1:1. so dapat guluhin ang lansangan sa traffic para yun karamihan sa'tin maubos ang sweldo kakaaksay ng oras sa lansangan as well as commutation expenses daily.Last edited by Gen. Miting; March 1st, 2009 at 01:37 AM.

Yep its quite impossible. War also keeps the military-industrial complex profitable. Without war, these weapon makers have no business... Same could be said with Iraq and Afghanistan...

March 1st, 2009 05:53 PM #5it's a double edged sword actually. but we as humans have to continue to develop weapons of mass destruction.
kasi hindi din natin alam what's out there in space, the next frontier. kaya nga ang exploration ng US military biological, chemical, nuclear, psychological, mental weapons.
kita nyo di ba kayo nagtataka, after the Apollo missions, wala na ni isang government sa mundo nag-try bumalik sa moon. bec. i'm sure they have encountered something out there. kaya nga ngaun we just go on our backyard, like hanggang our own orbit lang.
and also why was it in the 80's, ronald reagan was even allowed to publicly declared his star wars program. kung ngaun if si Bush yan, he will be considered a looney,
