Maganda nga yung comparison ni raquel fortun.

Gloria government -super corrupt pero pag may calamity or any problem talaga hindi basta natitinag. Ang fault talaga niya yung asawa nya ginawa negosyo government.

Noynoy government - Mr clean, daan matuwid pero pag may calamity doon talaga nasisira. Pag naalala ko yung bagong president palang noynoy nung bumaha natawa ako takot pala sa tubig baha. Kaya nung after ng earthquake sa bohol doon daw matutulog presidente sa tent na cowoby na cowboy dating. Palow-key pa na ayaw pa interview na serious cowboy genuine yung ginawa.

Ang nagustuhan ko kay noynoy yung talaga sinugod nya si nur misuari. Pero pag calamity kadiri ang baha.

Pano matitinag eh laki nga ng kinikita pag may calamity. Beside Gloria's "galing" was never tested with these chain of calamities, so wala tayong point of comparison to quite honest.

Term ni gloria dami typhoon. 2001-2010 yung term

Grabe yun ondoy nun naging "benchmark na nga ondoy sa mga sumunod na baha. Pati yung bagyo sa province yung malakas hangin.

Naalala ko nga nung ondoy wala ng sisihan nangyari nun inako lahat ni bayani fernando yung blame unang araw after ng bahay. Ang difference kasi ngayon 3 - 4 days muna naghanap ng sisihin/politics bago nagplano paano aayusin relief operation.

Sa news pag may baha tignan nyo marikina ngayon after ng ondoy sobrang paranoid nakatingin na sa level ng tubig. Naging handa na at natuto.

Pero grabe talaga ang yolanda typhoon. Kahit sino pa past government eh mahihirapan talaga. Ang difference lang eh yung approach ng aquino government na naghanap muna sisihin/politics.

Kasi pwede naman tulong muna tapos doon na pagalitan yung may mali.

hmm...if we're trying to make the case of the GMA administration having given disaster response capabilities a boost, can someone post some solid numbers on

- pesos spent in upgrading infrastructure in response to natural disasters
- pesos spent in acquiring disaster response equipment, etc.
- training of personnel
- etc.?

i think that should be the basis in gauging a specific administration in this case. i don't think we can absolutely say that so-and-so administration had better disaster response/preparedness just because it got lucky -- i.e. didn't have a Yolanda-class supertyphoon bear down on it.

As bad as Ondoy was, at least people had homes to go home to afterwards.

Bayani Fernando was a class act though, he did take responsibility. Naalala ko lang nagreklamo siya post-Ondoy that a lot of people were just milling around, looking at the MMDA doing cleanup, di man lang daw nagpulot ng katiting na basura :p

What does "bone up" mean anyways? Green yung naiisip ko :naughty2:
