Maybe because a lot of tsikoteers perceive him to be corrupt. We're all educated people here and we can easily distinguish right from wrong, BS and straight talk. IMO, most misdeeds attributed to him (Jose Pidal, undeclared wealth sa US, power-brokering, smuggling, extra-marital affairs and election cheating), are true.

Now, if Sen. Joker Arroyo or other personalities whom I perceive to be straight and incorruptible, were stricken ill, then I would gladly offer my prayers for their speedy recovery. The fact that only a handful wished him well speaks volumes of his (negative) reputation.

case in point, the thread on Eraserhead's Ely Buendia. Nobody here at tsikot personally knows him but prayers had been offered for his recovery.

Corrupt or not, does wishing ill on another person morally right more so that we Filipinos proudly proclaim that we are the only Christian nation in Asia?

I have no qualms about criticizing someone (even my favorite columnists Max Soliven & Dong Puno dishes out criticisms against Mike Arroyo) but I don't think that making fun of them while they are sick is "criticizing".

I'm neither pro-administration nor opposition. I'm apolitical. But I do take it strongly when public servants (although technically, hindi naman government official si FG), use their position and influence to steal and perpetuate themselves in power.

And Swordsman is right, this is not a court of law, but a public forum, where netizens are free to air their opinions. That much-abused "guilty-unless-proven otherwise" adage does not hold water here.
