More or less, oo. Paano naman, di naman sila binded by law or by church. Mutual agreement lang ng couple yun. So kung may anak sila, eh single mom pa rin lalabas yun babae.

Scale doesn't matter. It will still mean less jobs for them. They willingly took the job in the first place because:

    a. their alternatives are far worse
    b. their skills don't fit better jobs
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

may sumesweldo pa ba na KB na below 2k ngayon, e sa agency minimum na yung 3.5k?

discount for single moms? katarantaduhan yan! e yun nga sis-in-law ko na single mom pinalayas ko nung nabuntis e. buntot nya hila nya! kala siguro lalandi tapos sasagutin namin ang gatas ng anak nya, asa pa! pinatuloy ko siya sa bahay ko on the assumption that she will behave, not become a bad influence to my kids. and this law rewards them for their stupidity!

MANILA, Philippines -- President Benigno Aquino III has signed into law the Kasambahay Bill, which is expected to benefit some 2.5 million domestic helpers.

Deputy Malacanang spokesperson Abigail Valte said Republic Act No. 10361, or “An Act Instituting Policies for the Protection and Welfare of Domestic Workers,” was signed on January 18.

The statute defines the labor rights of domestic household workers, increases their minimum wage, and provides regular employment benefits for them.

The new law sets the minimum wage of domestic workers to a minimum of P2,500 a month in the National Capital Region; P2,000 a month in chartered cities and first class municipalities; and P1,500 a month for those employed in other municipalities.

A year after the law takes effect, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards are mandated to review and adjust the wages for domestic workers as needed.

Besides standardized pay, domestic workers will be entitled to other social benefits provided under existing laws and to be enrolled in the Social Security System, Philhealth, and Pag-Ibig Fund, with premium payments shouldered by employers if the helpers receive a monthly salary below P5,000.

Insurance coverage for your workers is a good thing.

Obama's mother's cancer bankrupted her, which inspired him to do something about it.

Medical insurance IS a good thing. But why should the employer be the one to pay? Why not force people to take it out themselves?

And why enact a new law that forces people to pay private insurers, when all employees in the US already pay medical insurance via the payroll tax, which goes straight into social security and welfare?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
