"The Embassy takes a serious view of the misleading FB post. We are seeking legal advice. We also request the immediate removal of the post, which is a clear misrepresentation," the Embassy wrote in a Facebook post on Monday (Apr 25).

The Embassy had earlier posted on Facebook last week that it was "untrue" that Mr Lee supported Mr Duterte for the upcoming election on May 9.

The embassy said it has been alerted to a Facebook post "mischievously" alleging this. A photo shared on social media in recent days showed Mr Lee with the caption: "Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is the only presidential candidate that could make Philippines like Singapore".
