Koko on drug list: No need for dead to report to superiors

“Kunwari nasali sa listahan isang patay e ang damage lang nun e dun sa reputation lang nung namatay, so ikokorek na lang po yan in due time. Actually ikokorek yun in due time if lumabas nga na never syang naging involved sa illegal drug trade dahil kung totoo naman, e di wala ring issue. Wala na ngang hurt yung tao kasi patay na sya, hindi na nya maramdaman yung hurt,” he said.
    Ang talino mo Koko.

^kahit i-correct pa yan at sabihin ni Andanar, Aguirre o Bato na "oops our bad, di pala kasama si...", sira na reputasyon ng mga yan. Naiinis sila noon kay Trillianes na puro trial by publicity, eh ngayon mas masahol pa pala.

    RESULTA

Metro Manila crime rate drops – NCRPO
By Non Alquitran (The Philippine Star) | Updated August 8, 2016 - 12:00am

Metro Manila crime rate drops – NCRPO | Metro, News, The Philippine Star | philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines – The number of crimes recorded in Metro Manila went down last month since the National Capital Region Police Office implemented an all-out war on drugs, NCRPO director Chief Superintendent Oscar Albayalde said yesterday.

The NCRPO has so far neutralized 157 drug suspects, arrested 1,198 others and initiated the surrender of 22,156 drug pushers from July 3 to Aug. 3, according to Albayalde.

The NCRPO is also investigating the deaths of 76 drug suspects who were either killed or found dead in the metropolis.

Albayalde said car theft cases in Quezon City decreased, with only four incidents during the same period.

“At least nine vehicles were stolen every day in Quezon City in the past. But only four vehicles were stolen last month, and one of the incidents was solved by police,” he said.

Albayalde said only two theft cases per day were recorded by the NCRPO compared to previous records of four cases a day.

Cases of robbery also dropped from three cases to two per day, he said.

The NCRPO chief ordered the five district directors and 38 police chiefs in Metro Manila to shift the anti-drug campaign to high-value drug personalites.

“We should not lower our guard at this time. If we could do it in the first month, then there’s no reason for us not to meet the deadline set by the President to solve crime and illegal drugs within six months,” Albayalde said.

This, then, is Duterte at his rawest: The man who captured the imagination of ordinary Filipinos all over the land with his implacability and resoluteness.

The critics may carp all they want. But if you listen hard enough, you just might hear the people sing

PNP chief: Drug lords teaming up with ISIS, BIFF to kill me, Duterte

Drug lords are now teaming up with members of jihadist group ISIS and local group Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) to kill President Rodrigo Duterte, according to Philippine National Police chief Dir. Gen. Ronald dela Rosa.

"May mga drug lord na nagbabayad, umaabot na sa personalities sa ISIS at BIFF. Lumalapit na sila dahil nahihirapan na sila maghanap ng tirador. To the extent na roadside bomb, car bomb [na ang gagamitin]," Dela Rosa said in a press conference in Davao City on Tuesday.

Dela Rosa said he himself is also being targeted by the drug lords because of their intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
"Sa totoo lang they are now moving heaven and earth,” he said.

Dela Rosa said he has been receiving threats but quickly added that he is not afraid of them.

"Sanay naman tayo. Tatanggapin ko. I am ready to die anytime. Di ako takot mamatay. Di tayo natatakot diyan. Bahala sila," he said.

"Bahala na si Lord kung gusto niya mamatay na si Presidente, kung gusto niya mamatay na ako. He can take my life anytime. Wag kayong mag-alala hindi ako takot,” he added.

Duterte threatens to declare martial law if SC thwarts drug war | Inquirer News

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday threatened Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno that he would declare martial law if the Supreme Court would hinder his war against illegal drugs.

“Ikaw ang kingpin sa judiciary. Ako, Presidente. Ako may trabaho, ikaw wala. Walang mga judges na nagpa-patrol ng daan. Walang mga sheriff ninyo na naghuhuli,” Duterte said in a scathing speech against Sereno at the 4th Infantry Batallion in Camp Evangelista, Cagayan de Oro City.

“Please huwag mo ako … hindi ako … di ako gago. If this continues, pigilin mo ako, sige ‘pag nagwala, would you rather that I declare martial law?” he said.

The President’s statement came a day after Sereno questioned allegations that seven judges had been involved in illegal drugs. Sereno said only the high court was authorized to discipline members of the judiciary.

Duterte warned Sereno not to create a constitutional crisis.

“Ikaw warning-an ko: Don’t create crisis because I will order everybody in the executive department not to honor you,” he said.

Duterte said naming in public those allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade was part of his duty as the country’s Chief Executive.

“I never accuse anybody except to read their names. It was not an accusatorial utterance. It is in consonance to my duty as President of Philippines,” he said.

“You know Chief Justice, there is a slaughter going on. Mind you, you are appointed by the government there in your office as Chief Justice at a time na wala ginagawa ang government. Why wait for warrant of arrest? There are 600,000, hundreds of thousands addicted,” the President said.

“Please do not create a constitutional issue,” he added.

imho, there's a reason why ganun ang validity period ng driver's license, passports, etc. Same with OFW documents. Yung issue naman talaga is that getting/renewing is so much of a hassle. Then minsan nauubusan pa ng ID cards, etc.

imho, the extension of the validity period is a band-aid to that underlying problem.

You may call it band aid solution, but that doesnt mean that the new LTO admin will not do anything anymore after this.
