I am not anti-Duterte, I am pro-Philippines. I don't call out Duterte to bring him down, but rather to hold him accountable for his grandiose promises of a better country.

Just to get it over with, yes, I also called out PNoy for poor showing as a statesman during the Luneta hostage crisis.

I also called out PNoy for his refusal to give Purisima the spanking he deserved, simply because Purisima has been a long-time family ally.

I also called out the administration for their lack of empathy and poor choice of words when addressing the victims and the general public regarding the laglag bala issue.

I am not an Aquino or LP apologist, I acknowledged and have called out their shortcomings, yet I also gave them credit where it was due.

Now, I am expecting much more from Duterte; he himself said that change is coming, and I am watching closely what kind of change this is.

While he has not even officially taken his seat as President of the Philippines, he is already off to a bad start. Among his actions that are alarming to me are:

1. His old boys club cabinet, filled with GMA's people, political accommodations/conflicts of interest (hi Mark Villar), and downright questionable choices (hi Sal Panelo). However, to be fair, the leftist representation and some of his other choices are promising.

2. His uncouth behavior. He claims he will undergo metamorphosis by June 30, but his behavior has been consistent all throughout the campaign period until today - it's evident that his brashness, lack of behavior, blatant disregard for checks and balances, and inability to see world views other than his own are all hardwired into his personality. I am not naive to think that he can change all this in a blink of an eye (nor do I see him trying), but there's nothing to do but hope for the better.

3. His stand on Marcos. He has expressed that he is an outright supporter, and that they go way back with the Marcos family. It's okay not to give Leni a cabinet position, but it's not okay if your reasoning is because you don't want to hurt BBM's feelings. Especially when your past statements have hurt many other people's feelings (DDS victims, Martial Law victims, women, etc). He is inadvertently supporting historical revisionism and allowing the dilution of the terrors of the Marcos regime by expressing his approval to bury FM Sr. at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani.

4. He says he is against corruption, but appears to only be against small-time corruption. While he lambasts corrupt policemen and journalists, he is disturbingly quiet about the corruption of the Marcos family. He is also surprisingly friendly to GMA (willing to give her a pardon), and has not uttered a word regarding the prosecution of Binay for his theft in Makati. And along with showing no empathy whatsoever for the journalists killed in Maguindanao, he has also been silent about getting the Ampatuans convicted - and his choice for Panelo as spokesperson speaks volumes about how this case is going to go.

Voicing my disappointment with his words and actions prior to his proclamation doesn't mean that I wish for him to fail. In fact, I want him to do a good job as president, because it means that the Philippines will be in a better place 6 years from now. And for him to do a good job, we should be vocal when he does something wrong. As the leader of a democracy, he should learn to listen to his governed, and make sure that all his actions are geared for the benefit of the majority of Filipinos, and not just his buddies.

juts, alam ko na kung bakit ganyan na lang burden mo sa sarili kasi isa ka sa mga tao na naniniwala na we are meant to live her to enjoy life, retire, have a good retirement budget, enjoy. ako Kasi I just found out that we are sent here to challenge ourselves, I don't care for order and governments anymore, re: them becoming ok for us to be ok, because that is not our purpose to have perfect or peaceful or happy lives. We are sent here to test our souls kung kaya natin ang afterlife. so don't pressure yourself if the government of FVR, GMA, Pnoy and Du30 does not meet your standards. chances are it doesn't have anything to do with God's plan for you. prepare for your personal test bro. the reason why you are feeling somehow parang unmotivated or unchallenged is yun na nga, we were not sent here to buy cars and houses and internet and eat out nor travel. we have to face that challenge that is for us, that adversity that will make us realise who we are

To the other posters here. Im just addressing in general pag meron ako nabanggit na "kayo mga anti-duterte" So hindi kayo lahat kasi nababasa ko naman na meron level-headed pa din kahit hindi nyo binoto si mayor.

Grabe pala itong si Digong pag napahiya. When quizzed with that whistling incident involving Mariz Umai, a female reporter reminded him of a Davao City ordinance that stated that whistling at a woman in public is a form of ***ual harassment & that he broke his own law, he retreated into an impenetrable shell & insisted that no one can stop him from whistling because it is his freedom of expression. The poor reported could not even argue with him anymore. Looks like this will be a harbinger of things to come once he sits on his throne.
