I saw a post in FB (he is a Mar Roxas supporter) na mas lamang pa yung mga hindi bumoto kay Duterte and calling out those who voted particularly for Roxas and Poe na ilaban ang papasok na administrasyon. I really shake my head on this. move on na from the elections.

disclaimer: I voted for Miriam. but I will support whoever will lead this country for the next 6 years.

I think it's important to give the new government time to prove or disprove itself, like we did with PNoy (I gave him a year).

But we should also not be afraid to speak out. Digong has shown that he is willing to change his mind on issues if he is presented a compelling argument for the counter-case, as in K-12. And, as seen in the case of Quiboloy, Duterte doesn't seem to feel particularly beholden to anyone, though that doesn't explain Villar, completely.

There may be hope for this government, yet.

Of course... it's still worrying not knowing the exact shape of the pro-GMA cabal behind Duterte. We'll get a clearer picture come June.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I'm all for giving Duterte a chance, but giving Marcos a hero's burial is already a big booboo this early on. I don't see how this can be unifying at all.

Conspiracy theories aside, it's the message that matters - Marcos recognized in the Libingan ng Mga Bayani is a statement that the gravity of his atrocious regime has been watered down. It will mark the success of historical revisionism, and serves as an insult to all martial law victims.

It is the symbolism, more than anything else. They NEED that to help clean their name somewhat.

In reality, there are many more who qualify to be buried at Libingan who prefer to be laid to rest close to where their heart is.

Wala ba tayo yun parang genocide museum like sa Cambodia?

Martial law museum and all killed dapat gawan ng museum.

    Sadly none.

All we have are re-runs of an American film on Marcos and People Power showing on SkyCable when Martial Law or the People Power Revolution is commemorated.

It's really heart breaking to see youth doesn't know and understand a single thing about martial law.

You'd expect with the advent of internet and all...hay naku

There was a Martial Law museum during the People Power Anniversary earlier this year. I do hope they make it into a permanent exhibit, and that all schools make it part of their gradeschool curriculum to teach the atrocities of Martial Law.

This is the worst. I for one agree on the museum for martial law so that it will not happen again. So sad indeed with the Internet so prevalent. Sobrang mangmang sa history nang Pinas.

that's the problem with FREE FB... so much misinformation in FB and a lot of people tend to believe them. Adobo Chronicles for instance, i'm amazed that lots of people still don't know what it is. basing on the comments posted, common sense is really not common

Make it a virtual museum instead. In the Philippines, no one really visits a museum, especially the young ones.

If we want the Millenials to remember, it should be taught in schools and in social media

I blame squarely Pnoy for being remiss in this aspect. Now we're doomed for the next 6 years with an incoming President who thinks Marcos is the best President in history and might even emulate him

The internet is a double-edged sword. For the intelligent, free access to terabytes of indexed, cross-referenced verifiable sources of information makes fact checking and research infinitely easier than before.

For the masses, all the simple, dangerous, easily digestible memes are more in-your-face than ever before.

Social Media has helped to spread anti-vaxxer culture, anti-GMO hysteria, 9-11 conspiracy paranoia and much more.

    -

Fascist autocrats are also using the internet to spread propaganda disguised as information.

Look at how support for Putin in the West is growing, thanks to alternative pro-Russian news sources spreading thinly-disguised propaganda. Granted, these news sources DO expose the dirty laundry of the west, but they have a hidden agenda of sanitizing the dirty laundry of the Russian and Chinese governments.

    -

This is how Bongbong (almost) won in Manila (in the provinces, his powerful showing was already secured by the strong loyalist movement) - a social message that magnifies the untold sins of the Aquinos, mixes them with conspiracy theories and outright lies, and piggybacks the sanitization of Martial Law on top of that.

Feed the sheeple a little bit of truth, and any lie you tell them after that will be swallowed hook, line and sinker.
