^^I have to admit although my comments are that of an overall macroeconomic view of things, the masses only cares about how to put food on their tables today and tomorrow rather than 1 year from now and a wage hike seems to be the only option for them....
Pero as I said government should tackle the PRICE rather than the increase in WAGES. Its more constructive that way....

April 18th, 2008 11:56 AM #12I agree that the government should tackle the price rather than the wages. more tax incentives like what US is doing, especially for minimum wage workers. The tax table also needs to be changed.
The government should also try to study about subsidizing basic commodities. This government should cut its kickback first and try to do something about this crisis.

The BSP is all talk, but no action! If they are serious they should start RAISING the interest rates, but they are actually in the phase of LOWERING interest rates. And last I remember money supply increased at a gargantuan 17% per annum. Talk about inflation, they are a culprit of it or at least one of the culprits!!!

April 18th, 2008 12:23 PM #15its really ironic..... governance and government is about public service but the one doing real public service and sacrificing for this country is the business sector and the working class..... maybe its time for our government to do some sacrifice for the benefit of our country...........

here's the tax table found in COA website:
Not over 10,000 income = 5% tax
Over P10,000 but not over P30,000 = P2,500+15% of the excess over P30,000
Over P70,000 but not over P140,000 = P8,500+20% of the excess over P70,000
Over P140,000 but not over P250,000 = P22,500+25% of the excess over P140,000
Over P250,000 but not over P500,000 = P50,000+30% of the excess over P250,000
Over 500,000 = P125,000+34% of the excess over P500,000

Because GMA is so damn obsessed with her BALANCED BUDGET. Postpone na nila yan sa 2010 agenda tamang tama pagalis nya sa pwesto balanced budget na tayo and help subsidize rice for the meantime.
