Naniniwala akong may impiyerno. No matter what whitewashing of the story may be done here on Earth, maka Marcos man or Duterte... haharap lahat tayo sa Diyos.

Eternity in Hell, on the other hand, HAS NO END. Kahit millions of years pa makalipas, hindi ka na makakalabas dun sa paglalagyan mo, the torment will be forever.

Lahat ng moves at decision niya I agree with. Even the Kakampink vloggers Chris Tan, Christian Esguerra, Richard Heydarian, even Atty Claire Castro, they stopped criticising BBM na. Sa Reddit nga na majority kakampink, ang daming posts na they can't believe they agree with BBM on a lot of issues. It's good to have a President na hindi ako na high blood everytime I watch the news. Someone well spoken and classy.

Honestly, the industry where my family belongs to was at its peak during Marcos Sr time, he supported our industry. Bumagsak when Cory took over. Economically, we did better during Marcos time. Even if that were the case, my family voted Cory and in 2022 Leni.

He also should be given credit for asserting our rights at the WPS unlike that other person who was practically giving our territories to China on a silver platter.

Always a big achievements coming from a dutiti presidency.

[emoji23]

Bagsak na daw Pilipinas ngayon sabi ng mga DDS, so what!? Ganun din naman mga DDS during their time.

Seriously ... you need to rethink how you define what a good president is ... Heads of organized crime like the Mafia, Triads, etc are also well-spoken and classy ...

Scary to think what business you were in while majority of Filipinos suffered ... basically saying the morals of the President does not matter as long as we make money ...

I just said my family voted for Cory and Leni even if the industry we belonged to thrived during Marcos time. It's not really our fault, we've been in that "business" for over a century. It's agricultural in nature.

BBM is a good president COMPARED to Duterte.

So bbj is taking aim at the villar owned prime water h20 concessionaire for their inefficiency and very poor service. I know it's political in nature but it has been a long time coming.

in my opinion, BB had been planning his strategy for years. he would have won, kahit sinupaman ang VP running mate niya.

not a sure win for BBM, during that time Sara is also considering running for presidency and not vp. it will be a close 3-way battle with Leni.

Tingin ko kasama sa plano yan, they're starting to prop-up approval rating ni BBM before start impeachment.

MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed all Cabinet secretaries to submit a courtesy resignation, Malacañang announced Thursday.

The Palace said Marcos’ directive was meant to “recalibrate his administration” following the results of the 2025 midterm elections.

“This is not business as usual,” Marcos said, as quoted by Malacañang in a news release. “It’s time to realign government with the people’s expectations.”

The move came just three days after Marcos, in the premiere episode of his “BBM Podcast” aired Monday, revealed that the performance review of Cabinet members is underway.

“This is not about personalities—it’s about performance, alignment, and urgency,” Marcos said.

Duterte doubled the base pay of military and police starting 2018 through Joint Resolution No. 1, pero walang kasabay na contribution system. Tuloy, lumobo ang pension ng MUP dahil:

Fully funded by taxpayers: not from the MUPs themselves

Pensions are indexed, meaning every time tataas sweldo ng active personnel, automatic taas din pension ng retirees

Lifetime benefit siya: pati sa asawa if mamatay yung retiree.

Under this system, sabi nga ni ex-DOF Sec. Diokno, it’s unsustainable. He even warned na the MUP pension alone could bloat public debt by 25% within five years. Kaya nga gusto niya ng reform, like requiring active MUPs to contribute. But Recto, now the finance chief, disagreed. Instead of pension reform, he's honoring the "social contract" with MUPs and trying to cover the cost through tax collection.

Kaya ngayon, Recto is aggressively pushing:

    VAT on digital services (implemented)

    Nationwide “friendly” tax mapping (ongoing)

Excise tax on single-use plastics (proposed)

Tax on foreign currency deposits (proposed)

Even tried to pass the GROWTH Bill to increase capital, estate, and donor’s tax from 6% to 10% but t was withdrawn

In short, the burden is now on ordinary citizens. Di man natin nararamdaman directly yung MUP pension, we're paying for it through higher and broader taxes. Ang irony pa, the people who benefit most from Recto's decision not to reform the pension system are a very small percentage of the population pero tayo lahat ang pinapasahan ng bill.

    How small?

Only about 0.3% to 0.6% of the Philippine population directly benefits from the MUP (military and uniformed personnel) pension system.

    As of recent estimates:

    Active MUPs: ~400,000

    Retired MUPs receiving pension: ~150,000

    Total direct beneficiaries: ~550,000 people

    Philippine population: ~113 million (2025)

    550,000 ÷ 113,000,000 ≈ 0.49%

So roughly 0.5% of Filipinos benefit directly from the MUP pensionyet it takes up ₱213 billion back in 2023 and an estimated ₱1 trillion by 2035 of the national budget, all fully funded by taxpayers.

Even worse, if you include surviving spouses and dependents receiving pensions, the number barely crosses 1 million total: still less than 1% of the population. Meanwhile, the fiscal impact affects 100% of us through taxes, debt, or reduced public services.
